Danish Order And Danish Royal Medal Online Database Launches

Copenhagen | Denmark

Following Her Majesty Queen Margrethe of Denmark’s new digital overview of the official website of the Danish Royal Family, it is now possible to see and search the complete list of decorated individuals. The overview, that is updated daily, saw the launch of the Danish Order And Danish Royal Medal Online Database on 13 July 2018.

The new Danish Order And Danish Royal Medal Online Database will make it possible for anyone to search for living persons who have received a Danish order or royal medal since 1 January 1947.

The first ever state calendar was published in 1734, with the original written in German during this time. The state calendar eventually started to be published in Danish at a later stage. For over 280 years the Royal Danish Courts and State Calendar was the main source for information such as the list of people who have received a royal medal or order.

It wasn’t until 2014 that the court and state calendar ceased to be published. Since then it has not been possible to find a complete list of all decorated persons. The new Danish Order and Danish Royal Medal Online Database makes it possible for anyone to access and search all of the entries.
