Larry Milstein is a member of one of the leading families in New York real estate and is the heir to the Milstein real estate empire. The empire was founded by Paul Milstein. The patriarch used profits from the family’s flooring business in order to start their real estate empire. The family’s first residential project started in the early 1960s when they built the Dorchester Towers on 68th Street between Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway, New York. Since then the sprawling empire has grown to include 8 000 hotel rooms, 20 million square feet of office space and over 50 000 residential apartments.
The young member of the Milstein dynasty has already established himself as one of New York City’s most active and inspiring philanthropists. While still at high-school, Paul Milstein co-founded a chapter of the Charity: Water organization. During this time he raised over $15,000 in order to build four wells in Tanzania. He is also a member of the Federal Club Council for the Human Rights Campaign as well as serving as a Young Fellow at the Frick Museum. The philanthropist also interned at interning at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and Channel 13/WNET.
Larry is an alumnus from Yale where he completed his majors in Global Affairs and further studied Mandarin. During his time at Yale, he also acted as an editor of the Opinion section for the Yale Daily News.
