Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products and Fabergé have unveiled plans for an extraordinary Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Fabergé Egg Objet, marking a historic collaboration with legendary filmmaker Tim Burton.
This announcement follows the successful launch of their Fabergé x Beetlejuice Beetlejuice fine jewellery collection, created in partnership with Burton and renowned costume designer Colleen Atwood.
The Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Fabergé Egg represents Fabergé’s continued tradition of commemorating significant cultural milestones through their mesmerising objets d’art. Set for completion and unveiling in 2025, this unique creation promises to capture the eccentric spirit of both the Fabergé and Beetlejuice universes in an innovative and magical way.
Visionary Partnership Behind the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Fabergé Egg
The creation brings together an exceptional creative team. Tim Burton, recently honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in September 2024, has worked closely with Fabergé’s Creative Director, Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell, and Head of Design, Liisa Tallgren.
Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, responsible for the costumes in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, has also played a pivotal role in conceptualising this extraordinary piece.
“This amazing collaboration with Fabergé would not have been complete, without a spectacular, unique egg objet,” Burton stated. “Having had such creative freedom, I wanted to create a piece with Fabergé which was humorous and fun, whilst also honouring the company’s legendary quality and specialism in movement and animation. A pièce de resistance, I loved dreaming up this wonderful work of art, which also houses a hidden ‘celebration ring’ – I’d love to see someone make a special proposal with it!”
Revolutionary Design Elements
The Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Fabergé Egg features a groundbreaking design that pushes the boundaries of innovation and craftsmanship. A dedicated Workmaster based in south-east England oversees the construction of this masterpiece, which introduces a new ‘Fabergé first’ opening mechanism where both the top and bottom of the egg open in unison.
The egg’s design incorporates a monochromatic colour scheme that echoes iconic visuals from both Beetlejuice (1988) and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024), from Betelgeuse’s distinctive striped suit to the mysterious corridor of the Afterlife. Intricate details include eerie Headworms and Sandworms coiling around the base, creating a mesmerising visual narrative.
Innovative Features and Hidden Surprises
The exterior of the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Fabergé Egg showcases multiple ‘leaves’ that appear stitched together, paying homage to the new character Delores in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
These elements unfurl in unison, revealing the piece’s crescendo – a spectacular, gem-set wedding cake that rotates as it comes into view, referencing the wedding scene where Lydia Deetz is set to reluctantly marry Betelgeuse.
True to Fabergé’s tradition of surprising and delighting collectors, the piece contains an additional hidden treasure: a customisable celebration ring featuring a precious 2.2-carat responsibly mined Gemfields Mozambican ruby.
A Meeting of Creative Minds
Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell, Fabergé Creative Director, shared her enthusiasm: “Having been a long-time admirer of Tim Burton’s work and creative output, this co-creation has been a dream-come-true. In many ways, Peter Carl Fabergé was the original collaborator in that he allowed his Workmasters to ‘brand’ their creations with their own hallmarks and frequently teamed up with best-in-class talent. This way of merging creative brilliance at the highest level inspires us to this day to join forces with like-minded creators, always finding new and unexpected synergies which come to life in unique and collectible creations. We could not have had more fun working with Tim and Colleen. This truly marks an exceptional milestone in our modern-day history.”
Legacy and Innovation
The Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Fabergé Egg represents a unique confluence of creative forces. Both Burton and Fabergé share a legacy of unrivalled creative freedom and pioneering ingenuity, qualities that have enabled their work to appeal to audiences across generations.
This collaboration offers collectors a rare opportunity to own a piece that combines Burton’s artistic vision with Fabergé’s legendary craftsmanship.
The completed Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Fabergé Egg, developed in partnership with Tim Burton, will be revealed in 2025, marking a significant milestone in both cinematic and decorative arts history.
