Harrods has unveiled the highly anticipated Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar, bringing the sophistication of France’s premier champagne house to the heart of Knightsbridge.

The bar’s design pays homage to its French heritage, with its structure artfully crafted to echo the rolling landscapes of Épernay, the historic birthplace of Moët & Chandon in the Champagne region. The centrepiece of the space is a spectacular chandelier made with 64,000 handcrafted golden discs, designed to mirror the effervescence of champagne.

The bespoke bar serves as a testament to the maison’s commitment to excellence, offering guests an unparalleled opportunity to explore their extensive range of prestigious champagnes.

From the internationally acclaimed Impérial to their latest Grand Vintage releases, each glass promises a journey through Moët & Chandon’s centuries-old legacy of fine winemaking. The bar’s intimate setting provides the perfect backdrop for both casual 1 enthusiasts and serious connoisseurs to explore the depth and breadth of the house’s offerings.

Curated Champagne Selection

The carefully curated menu features an impressive selection of champagnes available by the glass, allowing connoisseurs and newcomers alike to sample different expressions of Moët & Chandon’s craftsmanship. Each champagne is served at optimal temperature in specially designed glassware that enhances its unique characteristics.

For those seeking an even more exclusive experience, the bar offers an exceptional collection of rare vintages by the bottle, including limited editions and carefully cellared treasures.

Particularly noteworthy is the Grand Vintage Collection, featuring remarkable years such as the 1959 Magnum, priced at £5,950, showcasing the house’s dedication to preserving and presenting historically significant champagnes.

The collection also includes other prestigious vintages from 1978, 1985, and 1990, each telling its own story of exceptional harvests and masterful winemaking. These rare bottles have been meticulously stored and maintained under perfect conditions, ensuring that each vintage reaches its full potential.

Seasonal Culinary Delights

To complement the exemplary champagne selection, the bar presents an elegant menu of seasonal gastronomic offerings. The culinary team has crafted a selection of sophisticated bar bites that perfectly pair with the house’s various cuvées.

Among the standout dishes is a delicate crab and avocado éclair, demonstrating the kitchen’s commitment to refined flavour combinations and expert technique. The menu changes with the seasons to ensure the freshest, highest quality ingredients are always used.

The menu extends to include classic luxury pairings such as fresh oysters and premium caviar, with Carlingford Oysters served with a subtle enhancement of celery and apple, finished with fresh tarragon.

For those with a preference for sweeter notes, the honey-thyme brioche offers an innovative twist on traditional French pastry, being delicately brushed with wildflower honey and garnished with fresh lemon thyme. Each dish has been thoughtfully developed to complement specific champagne styles, creating harmonious taste experiences.

Innovative Cocktail Programme

Beyond the traditional champagne service, the bar showcases creative mixology with a series of signature cocktails that highlight Moët & Chandon’s versatility.

The cocktail menu features innovative creations such as the Golden Harvest, which combines Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial with pear eau de vie and ginger cordial, and the Rouge Berry, a sophisticated blend featuring Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial with organic vodka and a selection of berries.

Each cocktail represents a careful balance of flavours that enhance rather than overshadow the champagne’s distinct characteristics.

The bar’s talented mixologists have developed these unique recipes through extensive experimentation and tasting, ensuring that each cocktail maintains the integrity of the champagne while introducing complementary flavours that enhance the overall drinking experience.

The bar team demonstrates particular expertise in their handling of these precious bubbles, ensuring that each drink maintains its effervescence and character throughout service.

Exclusive Experiences

The venue offers several unique experiences designed to deepen guests’ appreciation of fine champagne. These include carefully curated tasting flights such as ‘The Discovery’ and ‘The Elevation’, allowing visitors to compare different expressions of Moët & Chandon’s artistry.

The tasting experiences are complemented by knowledgeable staff who guide guests through the nuances of each champagne, sharing insights into the house’s history and winemaking philosophy.

For special occasions, the Champagne Tower Experience provides a theatrical serving of a magnum of Brut Impérial cascaded through a pyramid of glasses, accompanied by a selection of nine savoury bites and one sweet treat.

This spectacular presentation creates memorable moments while showcasing the grandeur and celebration associated with the Moët & Chandon brand. The bar also offers The Moët Moment, an effervescent twist on the traditional British afternoon tea, perfectly pairing champagne with carefully selected sweet and savoury bites.
