With the global superyacht market surging, Kitson Yachts has positioned itself at the vanguard of bespoke maritime design. The firm’s latest announcement, the 88m Project Spyder, is poised to redefine luxury yachting when it sets sail in 2027.

Combining cutting-edge technology, collaborative design excellence, and a relentless focus on customisation, this Admiral-class vessel promises to be a game-changer.

A Masterclass in Collaborative Design

The creation of Project Spyder is a testament to the synergy between two titans of yacht design: Espen Øino International and FM Architettura. Espen Øino, renowned for his sleek, aerodynamic exteriors, has crafted a silhouette that marries elegance with functionality. The yacht’s low-profile superstructure and elongated lines evoke a sense of motion even at rest, while expansive glass panels amplify its connection to the sea.

FM Architettura, entrusted with the interiors, has prioritised harmony between space and light. Drawing inspiration from the client’s vision of a “floating sanctuary,” the studio employed a palette of soft neutrals, rich woods, and metallic accents.

Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the living areas with natural light, complemented by custom furnishings that balance opulence with comfort. The result is an ambience that feels both intimate and expansive,a rarity in superyacht design.

Technical Innovation Meets Sustainable Performance

Beneath its striking exterior, Project Spyder incorporates groundbreaking engineering. The yacht’s steel hull and aluminium superstructure ensure durability without compromising agility. However, its true innovation lies in the advanced diesel-electric propulsion system, powered by electric Azipods.

This technology not only slashes fuel consumption by up to 20% but also reduces noise and vibration, enhancing onboard tranquillity.

Environmental stewardship extends beyond propulsion. The Italian Sea Group, selected as the build shipyard, employs cutting-edge 3D modelling and digital platforms to minimise waste during construction. “Sustainability isn’t an afterthought,it’s woven into every decision,” says Brandon Kummer, Co-Founder of Kitson Yachts. “From material sourcing to energy efficiency, Project Spyder embodies responsible luxury.”

Unparalleled Amenities for Modern Luxury

Project Spyder’s layout is a masterstroke in spatial optimisation. The 3,000 GT vessel accommodates 18 guests across nine staterooms, including a bridge-deck master suite with a private circular terrace,a first for yachts of this scale. The main deck’s pièce de résistance is a 10.3-metre swimming pool, flanked by a 100m² beach club that expands via four hydraulic terraces.

Recreational versatility shines in the bow area, which transforms from a pickleball court to a helipad. Meanwhile, the sundeck caters to wellness enthusiasts with a fully equipped gym, Jacuzzi, and lounge zones. “Every feature serves a purpose,” notes Michael Tabor, Kitson Yachts’ Co-Founder. “We’re challenging the notion that luxury means excess. Here, it’s about intentionality.”

The Philosophy of Bespoke Yachting

For Kitson Yachts, Project Spyder exemplifies its ethos: client vision first. The owner’s hands-on involvement shaped everything from the yacht’s flow to material finishes. “Many builders offer templates; we offer blank canvases,” explains Kummer. “Our role is to translate dreams into steel and aluminium while navigating technical complexities.”

This approach has cemented Kitson’s reputation as a trusted advisor in an industry rife with opacity. By mediating between clients, designers, and shipyards, the firm ensures seamless collaboration. Tabor adds, “Transparency is non-negotiable. Clients invest not just money but their aspirations. We honour that trust by delivering beyond expectations.”

Setting New Standards for the Future

As Project Spyder progresses toward its 2027 completion, its influence is already rippling through the sector. The yacht’s hybrid propulsion and adaptive spaces align with growing demand for eco-conscious, multi-functional vessels. Moreover, its emphasis on family-centric design, such as kid-friendly suites and intergenerational lounges, reflects shifting owner priorities.

Kitson Yachts anticipates that Project Spyder will inspire a new wave of custom builds. “This isn’t just a yacht; it’s a statement,” says Tabor. “We’re proving that bespoke doesn’t mean impractical. When artistry and engineering unite, the possibilities are limitless.”

Conclusion: A New Era for Maritime Excellence

The 88m Project Spyder is more than a superyacht,it’s a paradigm shift. By harmonising client collaboration, sustainable innovation, and avant-garde design, Kitson Yachts has crafted a vessel that transcends trends. As the maritime world watches its 2027 debut, one truth emerges: the future of luxury yachting is not just about grandeur, but purpose. And in that future, Kitson Yachts is leading the charge.
