In today’s world, basic high-speed internet access is generally no longer viewed as a luxury; in fact, it’s a practical necessity. This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t aim higher, however, when it comes to home internet connectivity. This is an area that many of us don’t consider enough, so here we’re going to look at what modern luxury internet access looks like, and explore the benefits it can have for your home.

What Counts as Luxury?

When looking at luxury home internet, there are quite a few simple mistakes we constantly see less tech-savvy people make. The first is thinking that cutting-edge and impressive new tech is always the best option. This is best illustrated by Starlink, which, while still fantastic technology, pales in comparison to fibre installs.

The reason for this ties into our second point: wireless is often unreliable. Whether you’re connecting via a Starlink satellite or sending signals around your home with Wi-Fi, this signal can often be interrupted or drop. Even if you don’t notice it, this is constantly happening in the background, subtly degrading your experience.

While some level of Wi-Fi will always be necessary, you can mitigate its issues by rewiring your house with ethernet ports in key areas, like behind TVs and in office/gaming spaces. If you can, hide an ethernet port behind everything you use seriously, plug the device in, and you’ll have the best experience possible. From here, look into powerline adapters and signal boosters to extend areas where only Wi-Fi is viable.

It’s also worth looking at speed, where for most people 1 Gbps will be more than enough. Though higher speeds are now available, even at a luxury level, faster speeds are usually a waste. After all, a single 4K ultra-HD video stream uses around 25 Mbps of bandwidth, meaning you’d need to run 40 4K streams from one connection to use all of a 1 Gbps connection.

What Can You Expect at This Level?

At the highest possible level of home internet systems, you can essentially just expect as flawless a connection experience as possible. This means the best speed and the most reliability, though this might not make everything flawless. Just because your home connection is operating at the highest level doesn’t mean a website’s server is, so it’s still possible to face delays and connection drops, just not on your end.

Just as importantly, investing in these types of home internet upgrades will be reflected in home valuation should you ever decide to sell. Nowadays, there exist platforms which offer cash for houses, which, alongside featuring free cash offers and no hidden fees, can maximise profits for you by taking into account any amenities you do choose to upgrade. Since this tech is only going to become more important, these installations can be a great investment whether you end up selling your house or not.

With the need for faster and more reliable home internet only growing, upgrading your setup is never a bad idea. It’s not only great for increasing the value of your home, but can also help enhance productivity and get you exactly what you want when you want it. Consider looking into the above suggestions, and you’ll be amazed at just how much is on offer.
