Rand Merchant Bank and Latitudes Online are excited to announce the launch of RMB Latitudes, an innovative new art experience that will take place in Johannesburg in May 2023.
The event will be held at Shepstone Gardens, a magnificent three-acre property, and will be a curated celebration of art from Africa.
RMB Latitudes promises to be an unforgettable experience, bringing together artists and exhibitors from across the continent to showcase their art.

Co-emergence: The Central Curatorial Theme
The central curatorial theme for RMB Latitudes Art Fair 2023 is co-emergence, which is defined as the complexities embedded in the interaction of various cultural and aesthetic influences on the creation and interpretation of African art.
Latitudes Special Projects Curator, Nkhensani Mkhari, explains that the theme explores how diverse aesthetics and cultural influences echo each other in the diaspora and African contemporary art.
Practitioners working both on and off the continent will participate in the event, showcasing their work and exploring the central curatorial theme.
Partnership with RMB
RMB has partnered with Latitudes to bring this event to life, and the Head of Marketing for RMB and FNB in Broader Africa, Linda Kachingwe-Sisya, explains that the universal language of art enables powerful communication across Africa, expressing the spirit of the time and bringing societies together.
RMB Latitudes Art Fair will be a unique opportunity to support the vibrant and resourceful economy of Africa.
