Paris is set to witness a groundbreaking cultural event with the arrival of ArtVendôme, the highly anticipated first international jewellery fair.
From Wednesday 31st January to Saturday 3rd February 2024, the Grand Palais Éphémère will serve as the venue for the inaugural edition of this remarkable event. The fair will then establish its permanent location at the iconic Grand Palais in January 2025, coinciding with the reopening of this historic monument. With a focus on redefining the perception and experience of jewellery, ArtVendôme invites visitors to immerse themselves in a world where emotion, innovation, and heritage seamlessly converge.
Embodying the universal and timeless nature of jewellery, Richard Steeve Giraud, Founder and CEO of ArtVendôme, envisions the fair as the ultimate destination for all jewellery collectors and enthusiasts to share their passion. To bring this vision to life, Giraud has assembled a team of specialists who will orchestrate and organize the event. Together, they aim to create an immersive experience that forges a deep and lasting bond between the audience and the captivating realm of jewellery.
By bringing together international high jewellery and jewellery designers, heritage maisons, boutique brands, contemporary artists, and vintage dealers, ArtVendôme unites collectors and new generations, collectively envisioning the future of jewellery. The fair not only embraces innovation but also delves into the captivating historical, social, and cultural significance of jewellery.
Heading the Advisory Board of ArtVendôme is the renowned historian and writer, Vivienne Becker. Comprising esteemed individuals from the jewellery and arts industries, the board includes experts, writers, authors, historians, curators, gallerists, and collectors. Some notable members are Carol Woolton, a best-selling author, broadcaster, and Contributing Editor of British Vogue; Fabrice Bousteau, the Editorial Director of Beaux Arts Group; Pearl Lam, Founder of Pearl Lam Galleries; Suzanne Tennenbaum, a distinguished Jewellery Collector, and Sydney Picasso, an esteemed Art Collector, among others.
Vivienne Becker remarks, “ArtVendôme brings together the maisons that matter, designers who dream, the brands who break boundaries… today’s leaders and innovators of tomorrow’s world of jewels.”
Fabrice Bousteau adds, “Fine jewellery is, in fact, an unknown art, sophisticated, conceptual, but also meditative and magical, imbued with the incredible power of stones! Let’s be illuminated by the beauty of these fascinating objets d’art in Paris next January!”
Carol Woolton, the voice of ArtVendôme, will curate a cultural programme featuring talks and conversations that offer attendees the opportunity to engage with specialists and gain a deeper understanding of the world of jewellery. The fair’s dedication to history and culture will also be showcased through an exhibition curated by Fabrice Bousteau, exploring the evolution of jewellery across ages and cultures.
ArtVendôme aims to provide exhibitors with the freedom to express themselves and share their unique narratives and stories within their designated spaces. Participants will be encouraged to curate innovative exhibitions, showcasing distinctive, one-of-a-kind pieces while introducing new creations. By fostering this creative freedom, ArtVendôme’s Selection Committee (to be announced) aims to honour the diverse perspectives, artistic expressions, visions, and rich heritage of each exhibitor, presenting under one roof a broad panorama of the best international jewellery design and creativity.
At the core of ArtVendôme lies a spirit of creativity and passion. Richard Steeve Giraud, a lifelong advocate and collector of jewellery, expresses his deep-rooted passion for the art form, stating, “Jewellery has always been my passion, and I believe it is an art form that deserves to be celebrated. It is a universal form of artistic expression that fascinates everyone.” Giraud’s desire to create a fair that offers an unparalleled opportunity for all participants to be part of this transformative movement led to the birth of ArtVendôme.
As the world converges on the global capital of luxury, ArtVendôme, named after Place Vendôme, the epicentre of French high jewellery savoir-faire, stands as a testament to the city’s esteemed heritage and unwavering commitment to excellence. This inaugural edition promises to deliver an immersive experience that fosters deep emotional connections between the wearer, the observer, and the power of jewellery itself.
Stay tuned for the announcement of the initial list of exhibitors in September, and mark your calendars for the release of tickets this autumn. ArtVendôme awaits, ready to redefine the world of jewellery and captivate visitors from around the globe.
