Looking for Awesome things to do in Malaga? We have scoured the streets to put together the ultimate list for your trip out.

If you want a tried and tested holiday destination that’s pretty much guaranteed to give you plenty of sunshine and some amazing sights, Spain is a country that will not disappoint.

The weather in Spain is fantastic, the food is out of this world, the locals are friendly, and there are some fantastic places to visit, both in land, and by the coast.

If you’ve decided on Spain but aren’t sure where abouts, may we be so bold as to mention the gorgeous destination that is Malaga?

Malaga is known as the capital of the Costa del Sol, and is one of Spain’s most popular holiday destinations, seeing tourists and holidaymakers flock there in their droves for a break in the sunshine every single year.

If you’re considering Malaga but aren’t sure whether it’s right for you, here’s a look at some awesome things to do in Malaga.

Hike The Chíllar River

If you’re a fan of hiking and like to stay active and get some fresh air whilst on holiday, then hiking along the Chíllar River is a great way to spend the day whilst in Malaga.

Here, you can hike along the river to the caves of Nerja, where you can take in some truly spectacular scenes and see all that Mother Nature has to offer you in Spain.

This trek is not a gentle stroll around the park, so be sure to come prepared! The sun in Spain is fierce, so use protection, and pack plenty of cold water for drinking. Comfortable footwear is also essential.

Usually, the hike will take around 4 – 6 hours, so again, don’t expect a quick walk around the block.

Once you reach the caves of Nerja, you will be rewarded with a large clear water basin, perfect for cooling off after your hike.

Embark Upon A Culinary Tour Of Malaga

Spanish cuisine is up there with the finest cuisines in the entire world, and in Malaga, it is certainly no exception.

Thanks to its close proximity to the Mediterranean Sea, Malaga provides some of the finest seafood the country has to offer, as, once served, it is hours, sometimes even minutes, old and is as fresh as fresh can be.

Foodies should get in touch with travel agents as there are numerous operators in Malaga that provide food tours throughout the city, where you can enjoy a variety of truly authentic Spanish dishes, with not a frozen chip or microwave tikka masala in sight.

From fresh seafood paella to a selection of Tapas, foodies will be in heaven whilst on one of these tours, so just be sure to embark hungry, as you will get plenty of samples along the way.

Visit The Alcazaba Of Malaga

This is arguably Malaga’s most popular tourist attraction, and it is certainly not one that you want to miss.

The Alcazaba of Malaga was constructed in the 11th century by the Moors and has served as a home of Muslim rulers, as well as a fort to protect the city and defend it from invading Catholics.

Here, in this very well-preserved ruin, you will find gorgeous gardens, patios, fountains, majestic courtyards, and a whole lot more besides.

Not only that, but within the grounds, you will also find a small museum which showcases Moorish pottery and ceramics.
