In an official announcement made by the Palace, it was confirmed that the Danish Crown Prince Couple is to visit Latvia in December. The official visit will see the Royal pair visiting the Northern European country in their public capacity on behalf of the Danish Royal Family. This historic visit is set to celebrate the landmark of Latvia’s 100 years of independence.
The Danish Crown Prince couple’s official visit to Latvia will start off in the Medieval capital city of Riga. The two-day jam-packed schedule will see Their Royal Highnesses be received at Riga Castle Square on 6 December 2018. They will be received and welcomed by HE President Raimonds Vējonis and First Lady Iveta Vējone.

Following the official reception at Riga Castle Square, the Danish Crown Prince Couple will take part in a ceremony at Latvia’s Freedom Monument. Later that evening, Their Royal Highnesses are scheduled to attend an evening concert at the Great Guild concert hall with a performance by the ensemble Concerto Copenhagen.
During the Latvia visit, the Crown Prince Couple will be introduced to Denmark’s special contribution to the 100th anniversary celebration, which includes an architectural competition. The winner gets to create the basis for how the former Scandinavian tobacco factory in Riga will be converted into a new cultural center and incubator for the creative industry. To conclude the visit, the Crown Prince Couple will have a guided tour of Latvia’s National History Museum.
More information is expected to be released shortly.
