The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) and the Oman Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, in partnership with OMRAN Group, recently unveiled their inaugural joint venture, the See Double campaign.
This collaborative effort aims to entice travellers to embark on an adventure to explore the natural wonders of Ras Al Khaimah and the neighbouring Musandam, the governorate of Oman, all in one thrilling trip this summer.
Introducing See Double: A Twinning of Destinations
The essence of the summer campaign lies in twinning up both destinations, enticing visitors with the promise of double the fun, adventure, and beauty, leading to the creation of lasting memories.
As an added incentive, the promotion highlights the ‘Kids Go Free’ offer available at numerous hotels and attractions in both Ras Al Khaimah and Musandam.
The official unveiling of the See Double campaign took place at the esteemed ITB Berlin, a global travel industry event held from March 5-7. This event serves as a platform for leisure travel partners worldwide to convene and collaborate.
The campaign launch follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the tourism entities in November 2023, with the shared goal of promoting cross-destination tourism initiatives to enhance international tourism in Ras Al Khaimah and the Musandam Governorate.
Experience Doubly: Maximising Travel Adventures
See Double effectively illustrates how travellers can enhance their experiences by visiting two remarkable destinations within a mere 90-minute drive of each other.
With an easily accessible border crossing and the shared natural beauty of the majestic Hajar mountain range, coupled with a rich, intertwined history and cultural heritage, the campaign promises to enchant visitors seeking diverse experiences.
By twinning up, visitors have the opportunity to double their delight by exploring unmissable attractions in each destination, including:
- Coastal Charms: Delight in 64km of Ras Al Khaimah’s stunning coastline and dolphin spotting in the Arabian Gulf in Musandam. The campaign also features iconic experiences such as the Jais Flight, the world’s longest zipline on Jebel Jais, and the Musandam Zipline, the world’s longest over-water zipline.
- Cultural Gems: Discover Suwaidi Pearls – the region’s only working pearl farm – and embark on a traditional Musandam dhow cruise, soaking in the sights of the Peninsula’s famous ‘desert fjords’.Additionally, explore ancient military forts like Dhayah Fort and Khasab Fort, which date back to the 16th and 17th centuries respectively.
- Peak Adventures: Scale the heights by hiking on Jebel Jais, the UAE’s tallest peak, and embark on a safari in Oman’s Hajar mountains. Thrill-seekers can also enjoy the exhilarating mountain toboggan ride, Jais Sledder, on Jebel Jais, with complimentary tickets offered to kids aged 12 and under for every adult ticket purchased during the summer.
Running from June 15 to September 15, See Double also emphasises that ‘Kids Go Free’ at most hotels and resorts in both Ras Al Khaimah and Musandam, ensuring exceptional value for money on accommodations and meals.
H.E Raki Phillips, Chief Executive Officer of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, expressed his enthusiasm for the campaign, stating: “Our See Double campaign with the ministry in collaboration with OMRAN brings together the best of Ras Al Khaimah and the Musandam Governate in one sensational summer promotion.”
