Duchess of Cambridge’s Third Child Due on St George’s Day

London | United Kingdom

News that His Royal Highness Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their third child was met with great joy and anticipation world-wide when the news broke. Together with the impending wedding between His Royal Highness Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as well as Her Majesty the Queen’s landmark attendance of London Fashion Week, the British Royal Family has been making news headlines around the world almost daily.

Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their first child into the world in 2013 with the birth of Prince George. Shortly after this, the couple welcomed Princess Charlotte in 2015.

According to reports by The Sun newspaper the latest addition to the Royal family is expected on 23rd April. This means that the Duchess of Cambridge is due on or possibly around St George’s day. This is a very significant day as it is the day that the United Kingdom celebrates its Patron Saint.

Although this has not yet been confirmed by the palace this has not stopped the public making heard its voice about the matter on social media. Thousands of people have tweeted and commented how ‘greatly patriotic’ it would be should the new royal baby be born in conjunction with the celebratory day.

It is believed that the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William has requested to keep the gender of the baby a surprise. This has however not stopped, a now great tradition, of bet taking on not only the gender but on the name as well. Currently the majority has been placing bets in favour of the new addition being a girl.

The favourite name thus far has been Mary, in honour of Prince William’s great-great grandmother. Whilst Mary is the clear favourite, Alice and Victoria make up the majority of the runners up. Arthur and Albert are the two favourites for a boy’s name.

The new royal arrival is set to become the 5th-in-line to the throne of the United Kingdom.
