Read on to find out the handbag essentials you need to pack right now.
Everything You Need In Your Handbag
No matter where you are or where you are going, there are a few things you should always have in your handbag. These range from your wallet, to your makeup kit and clear mascara and lipstick, to a water bottle and snacks.
If you are someone who always feels like they don’t have what they need, or you want to be a bit more organized, here is a list of essentials that should be in every handbag.
Wallet, Phone & Keys
The first three things you need are the three things that will ensure you are still ok if you lose your bag. Your wallet, phone, and keys are the three most essential things in your bag and should be the first things that go in it before you leave your house.
Mini Makeup Kit
You don’t want to haul around all of your makeup, but you will most likely want to have a touch-up or two throughout the day. A mini makeup kit or bag is a must, and you can fill it with whatever you may need.
Travel Tissues
One thing that you always seem to need but can never find is tissues. Whether it be for your nose, to fix your makeup, or clean up a mess, you never seem to have any when you need them the most.
A small packet of travel tissues is precisely what you need. You only get between 10 and 15, but the small packaging makes them easy to store, and you can stick a pack in your pocket, jacket, or leave one if your car too.
Baby Wipes
If you make a mess or you need to clean your hands, baby wipes are perfect. They smell good, they get the job done, and you get them in small packages designed for bags once again. You can also use them to remove makeup, but if you want makeup wipes, you can use the baby wipe container to store them.
Chewing Gum
If you are heading to a meeting or on a date, you don’t want to be looking your best, and your breath lets you down. A pack of chewing gum or mouth spray is small enough for your bag but also packs the punch you need.
Hair Brush & Hair Ties
While you might wake up loving the idea of having your hair loose, the wind may become too much, or you might get too hot. Packing a small hair brush like a Tangle Teezer and a few hair ties will ensure you can keep your hair under control no matter what.
Chap Stick
Your lips are often the first thing to dry out on hot or very cold days. If it gets too bad, they could scab or bleed, but there is an easy way to stop this. Having Chap Stick or something similar available will moisturize your lips throughout the day, no matter the weather.
Perfume
If you have a preferred perfume, you should look to see if they have a mini version available. You always want to smell good, especially in Summer, and having a bottle of perfume available, even if it is just a sample bottle, is a must.
Sunscreen
No matter the weather, it is essential always to apply sunscreen and protect your skin against the sun. Even if it is overcast, the sun can still do damage. Applying sunscreen in the morning and then reapplying, later on, will protect you all throughout the day.
Water Bottle
One thing many of us are guilty of is not drinking enough water. The best way to ensure you do is to always have a bottle of water available. Nowadays, there are many different kinds of bottles that will keep your water cold, meaning you have a refreshing drink available at all times.
Sunglasses
People often underestimate how much damage the sun is doing to your eyes throughout the day. You don’t need to look directly at it to do harm; therefore, you should always have a pair of sunglasses if you are going to be outside or traveling a lot.
Snacks
Having snacks in your bag will give you a boost of energy if or when you need it and will ensure you maintain healthy eating patterns. Eating a few small snacks every day is also great for those that don’t always have time for breakfast or lunch.
Notebook & Pen
A notebook and pen are things you don’t know you need in your bag. You can write down your thoughts and lists, remember an important date, or just doodle when you’re bored. Plus, even though we live in the age of computers, how many times do you still find yourself needing a pen to fill in paperwork or sign something?
Band-Aids
Finally, you should have a few Band-Aids or a mini first-aid kit in your car. You can easily cut or hurt yourself doing simple tasks, and you don’t want an open would, no matter how big or small it is. Throwing in a bottle of sanitizer or something similar is also helpful, especially if you do hurt yourself badly.
