Kasr Al Bahr, which translates to “castle of the sea,” was initially constructed in the 19th century as a sizable royal summer house. It then served as a military hospital before being abandoned in 1999. Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr will usher in a new chapter for the ancient resort with 204 opulently decorated rooms and suites overlooking the Atlantic Ocean after substantial renovations of the five-hectare (12-acre) cliffside retreat.

Seven restaurants and cafes, a spa with opulent treatment rooms and an indoor pool, many outdoor resort-style pools, as well as sizable meeting and event space are all included in the Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr. Karim Chakor of META Atelier d’Architecture, located in Morocco, has been in charge of the Hotel’s meticulous restoration, and Roger Nazarian and Associates has been chosen to oversee the interior design, landscaping, and other aspects of the property.

Gregory Viaud will serve as the Hotel’s general manager. Gregory will oversee the pre-opening operations of the hotel. This will be his second career assignment after managing the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center. Gregory has more than 19 years of experience working across a wide range of Four Seasons hotels globally. Gregory most recently served as the Four Seasons Resort Orlando’s resort manager at Walt Disney World® Resort.

Gregory and his crew in Rabat have already started getting ready to welcome visitors with the sincere heart and desire for excellence for which Four Seasons is known all over the world.
