In the bustling heart of London’s West End, where theatre lights twinkle and festive cheer fills the air, J.Sheekey is presenting its enchanting Christmas campaign, ‘The Pearls of J.Sheekey’.

This historic seafood institution, nestled in St Martin’s Court since 1896, transforms into a pearl-inspired wonderland this holiday season, offering an extraordinary celebration of maritime luxury and culinary excellence.

A Pearl-Adorned Paradise

The legendary restaurant embraces the festive season with opulent décor inspired by nature’s most precious marine treasure – the oyster pearl. This transformative theme pays homage to both the restaurant’s seafood heritage and the magical spirit of Christmas, creating an atmosphere of sophisticated celebration in the heart of Covent Garden.

The historic venue’s intimate spaces have been thoughtfully decorated to reflect this maritime theme, creating an ambiance that perfectly balances tradition with contemporary elegance. Each room tells its own story, from the iconic Atlantic Bar to the photograph-adorned walls featuring theatrical luminaries of the past century.

Festive Culinary Treasures

The seasonal menu celebrates the ocean’s finest offerings, with particular emphasis on the establishment’s renowned oyster selection. Guests can indulge in six varieties of seasonal oysters, including pristine specimens from English waters, Jersey’s finest, and the celebrated Loch Ryan variety.

For those seeking the ultimate in luxury, a carefully curated selection of caviar pearls awaits, featuring Oscietra, Platinum, and Royal Baerii varieties, each served with traditional accompaniments of blinis and crème fraîche.

The festive set menu, remarkably priced at £45 for two courses or £55 for three, showcases the kitchen’s masterful approach to seasonal dining.

Under the guidance of Culinary Director Tim Hughes and Head Chef Andrew McLay, the menu features sophisticated starters such as Stilton Welsh Rarebit Gougères with caramelised cauliflower soup and the classic J.Sheekey prawn.

Seasonal Specialities and Main Courses

Main course offerings demonstrate the kitchen’s commitment to both tradition and innovation. The fillet of cod with Catalan shellfish rice and saffron aioli exemplifies the restaurant’s seafood expertise, while the Roast Devonshire chicken and chestnut pie with buttered sprout tops and madeira jus offers a festive alternative for those seeking something different.

For a sweet conclusion, diners can choose between the innovative Panettone ice cream cup with brandy chocolate sauce or a carefully curated cheese course featuring Cropwell Bishop stilton with pear chutney and crackers. Adding to the festive atmosphere, live jazz performances will enhance Sunday dining throughout the season, extending to New Year’s Eve until 12:30am. These musical interludes provide the perfect accompaniment to the restaurant’s celebrated Fruits de mer platters, brimming with Atlantic prawns, clams, mussels, and oysters.

The Pearls of J.Sheekey festive campaign, including the special set menu and Guinness cocktails, started on 14 November, with lunch service from 12-4:45pm.

Special holiday operating hours apply, with Christmas Eve service from 12:00pm to 3pm, closure on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve service until 12:30am, and New Year’s Day hours from 12pm to 9:30pm.
