Mia’s London Fashion Week AW19 Run Down

So here’s the rundown. I had the most amazing time at LFW 19. My first time attending shows I had no idea what to wear or what time to arrive! Here is your insider knowledge for future use…

The essentials – What’s in my bag

Good reading material: One thing they do not tell you about run away shows? The long waiting queue outside. Come wind, rain or shine you better be ready to wait because who knows when you’re going in and you don’t want to lose your seat then having to stand at the back! I recommend bringing a fashion magazine to read while you hang around and possibly an umbrella…

The shoes: Along with the waiting, there is running between shows. So stop pretending and wear your comfies! I hid away a minute or two down the road to swap into these Ego Official heels (love the tassel trend). Wear something that is simple and goes with all outfits.

Earrings: Whilst watching shows and chatting, you get lots of last-minute party/drinks invites! Take your outfit from day to night with these red tassel earrings from Missguided.

Lipstick: If the earrings aren’t your thing, this Matt liquid lipstick is a winner on all skin tones. This shade is ‘Quite the stand out’ from MAC.

Sunglasses: ROKA Phantoms (click here to read my review on them) go with everything. These are Matt Black with Charcoal. Great for walking through papz pretending you’re a celebrity!

The Shows – Trending AW19

I was lucky enough to get invited to some amazing shows. I had no idea what to wear or what time to get there! I would recommend keeping your outfit classic and simple with statements pieces.

As for arrival, fashionably late is actually a thing as no show started on time! However, to be safe I got to the shows around 15 mins before the time mentioned on the invite. With some shows you have to get a badge, others you can pick your seat, so worth getting in early. Also, there are a ton of papz outside asking for photos if they like your outfit! Great insta pics…

Most shows had free snacks and drinks which is great if you have a jam-packed day. Just make sure you aren’t caught stuffing your face with popcorn in photos like me!

See below a short insight into each show I attended:

Roberta Einer

This show was full of outfits I would love to have in my wardrobe! There were lots of tartan, neon, feathers & sparkle elements. The space was cover in flowers, background music with birds tweeting and a star-studded front row.

Tolu Coker

This was such a fun show! Fugees oh la la la la playing in the background and models dancing down the runaway. The clothes had lots of gold chains, leather and chiffon.

Johnstons of Elgin

Chunky knits, tartans and leathers. This classic brand gave me so much wardrobe envy, the oversized scarfs are so beautiful.

The Presentations – AW19

Edeline Lee

Full of empowering women talking about empowering other women. My favourite quote was ‘When another woman rises she gives me wings’ and talks of visualising all you would like to achieve. Models were dressed in nudes, whites, hues of orange and ruffles.

Isosceles

Women in chiffon underwear, having fun eating and drinking with friends. Lots of bold colours mixed with nudes.
