Ladies and gentlemen, grab your over-sized hats and slip on your loafers, its official. The 70s are back! Yesterday we saw the DAKS Spring/Summer 2019 collection and it was a fabulous reboot of the best of the 70’s. From the usage of repetitive-object patterns right through to polonecks and bell-bottoms the 70s revival is here and it looks better than ever.
Major colours in the collection is a perfect re-imagining of the era of the protest with yellow, orange and of course white on white making a large comeback. The styling saw flat colours on flat colours with the exact hues matched on piece to piece. The oversized everything is a major trend with huge hats paired with even larger sunglasses and accessories. It is all about flow and movement, whether it be loose flowing bell-bottoms or the movement of a tight classic cocktail dress, its all about the movement and exaggeration.
