Over the years, Monte Carlo Fashion Week has been gaining in prestige, with the participation of an increasing number of international buyers, fashion editors, press, bloggers and influencers, as well as VIP guests, attending the exclusive runway shows, fashion hubs and glamorous social events.
They are all coming to discover the creations of new and emerging talented designers.
I’d like to highlight two fashion designers who are creating completely different styles to the norm. Hailing from two different continents, these two creatives will definitely continue to make waves through the industry.
During Monte Carlo fashion week, fashion Curator Veronica Sheynina presented a truly remarkable selection of the international emerging designers. One of these is the New-York based brand Diana Mahrach Couture. The brand’s main ethos is to bring together luxurious quality with heritage and is known for sophisticated looks married with eye-catching elegance. The collections are created in New York by the Moroccan native designer Diana Mahrach who mixes a Middle-eastern charm with a new fashion-forward vision.
The designer utilizes beautiful fashion silhouettes together with chic design, focusing primarily on haute couture evening and bridal wear.
Showcasing in Monte Carlo, in the heart of the French Riviera, definitely did enhance the mood of the collection. Mahrach models seemed like luminous mermaids emerging from the waves, promenading along the seaside. Splendid evening dresses in silks are finely embroidered and covered with crystals, giving them a translucent shimmer.
Royal semi-transparent gowns by Diana Mahrach with plunging necklines give the pieces a touch of flirtiness yet never crosses the line of elegance. Wearing one of these fantastic creations would certainly make any woman feel like a million-dollar mermaid.
A totally different style designer from Saudi Arabia – Dana Al Nohait, showcased her new Glidah Resort collection during Monte Carlo Fashion Week 2019.
The fashion label Glidah, founded in 2018, is a bohemian high-end women’s wear brand. The Glidah Resort 2019 collection is influenced by Dana’s personal style. The Saudi fashionista always focuses on items that are unique, feminine and not the norm.
The second line of the brand is called Creme by Glidah which creates summer dresses, linens and resort wear which have the same boho-chic mood and luxury style of Glidah.
Dana Al Nohait is the first Saudi Arabian designer to showcase at Monte Carlo Fashion Week. Her collection includes broderie Anglaise caftans, ruffle-trimmed robes and baby doll maxi dresses, finely decorated with flirty fringes.
All looks could certainly be worn as swimwear cover-ups but yet feels refined enough for the city as well. They’ll definitely fulfil a lot of women’s fantasies of dressing casually and elegantly on vacation even when they’re not at the seaside.
The natural fabrics colour palette consists of taupe, beige, blush, cream, olive and light blue. The chic and relaxed feeling one gets when wearing Glidah is the key to turn on the vacation mood during the whole spring/summer season.
