To mark the 30th anniversary of ITV’s show This Morning, His Royal Highness Prince Charles and his wife, Camila, will be appearing as guests on the show.
The Royal pair will appear on the 30th-anniversary taping of ITV’s staple show This Morning. The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall is set to sit on the famous sofa as a special treat to mark the show’s landmark episode. The couple is said to also sign a guestbook which will be given away to a lucky viewer later in October this year during a special week of anniversary celebrations.
This Morning‘s presenter, Holly Willoughby, made the announcement earlier this month stating “We are very proud and honoured to say that next Wednesday we will be joined by their royal highnesses the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall as This Morning celebrates its 30th anniversary.”
The first episode of This Morning aired in 1988 and has been broadcast every weekday morning since racking up over 6 000 episodes. Furthermore, the show won a National Television Award for Best Daytime Show earlier this month. This is an award that the show has won every year since 2011.
Phillip Schofield, co-host of the show, added “Charles and Camilla will discover more about This Morning’s successful campaigns and meet other members of the ITV Daytime family as the couple mark the 90th birthday of the Royal Television Society of which Prince Charles is a patron. We’re also going to be asking them to sign – we’ve never done this before – our first visitors’ book, which is going to be filled with pictures and messages from all our guests. We’re going to take piccies on this camera, Polaroid, old school.”
The episode with will be aired on Wednesday morning 31 January 2018 on ITV.
