Princess Mary of Denmark Awards EliteForsk Prize

Recently Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark travelled to the Copenhagen Opera House in order to hand out this year’s EliteForsk prize. The 47-year-old Princess arrived by boat and stepped off looking absolutely chic!

Her Royal Highness opted for a simple long-sleeve round-neck dress by Dolce & Gabbana. She paired the dress with a long grey coat that she elegantly wore over her shoulders upon arrival and took off during the ceremony. The Princess finished off the look with an elegant pair of nude heels. She was received and met by the Minister of Education and Research Tommy Ahlers.

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark arrives to award EliteForsk Winners

The Danish government has set itself a goal of supporting and stimulating various research centres and researchers in order to establish Denmark as a world leader in this field. The Ministry for Higher Education and Science annually distributes five prizes. Each prize is DKK 1.2 million. DKK 200,000 is a personal award and 1,000,000 goes to research.

The EliteForsk Prize is awarded to outstanding researchers under 45 years of international excellence.

In an official statement, the organizers stated that “The Elite Research travel grant is DKK 200,000 and helps very talented PhD students to perform longer-term studies in some of the best research environments in the world. The Ministry of Higher Education and Science annually distributes up to 20 Elite Research travel grants.”
