Unveiling ‘Cotswold Makers’

A highlight of this year’s event is the much-anticipated premiere of the play ‘Cotswold Makers‘. This theatrical masterpiece will grace the stage at Rodmarton for two nights during the festival. The play serves as a creative partnership, shedding light on the visionaries behind the construction of this magnificent house.

Notably, the esteemed playwright, Frank Hatt, who himself has a hearing impairment, intricately weaves the character of Lucy, the wife of Sidney Barnsley, one of the creators of Rodmarton Manor, who was profoundly deaf. As a testament to inclusivity, the Gloucestershire Deaf Association (GDA) has generously offered to create a British Sign Language (BSL) video of the play, free of charge.
