When you think of luxury automotive vehicles, there’s one brand name that instantly jumps to mind and that is Rolls Royce. For those of you with a keen eye for art and of course a taste for the finer things in life, you may have heard rumblings about the Rolls Royce Partners with Serpentine Galleries possibility. Well, we can now confirm that on June the 19th, 2018, Rolls Royce did indeed enter into partnership with said gallery, and like with all new relationships, the partnership deserved a celebration
The newly formed Rolls Royce Partners with Serpentine Galleries will start to develop throughout 2019. The idea behind the partnership is to showcase its support for all things contemporary art-related. To mark the occasion and to really get the relationship off on the right foot, Rolls Royce very generously donated a fleet of Rolls Royce Phantoms and Ghosts to transport guests to the annual Serpentine Summer garden party. The event is one of the most hotly anticipated events in the art calendar and is created to serve as a fundraiser with a very generous message behind it. Funds raised are used to ensure that the art gallery remains completely free to members of the general public, which in today’s current economic climate, is a real rarity indeed. Yana Peel, Chief Executive of the Serpentine added:
“The Serpentine is thrilled to have the support of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, helping us to inspire the widest audiences by championing the possibilities of art and architecture. We are delighted to celebrate this association with the Rolls-Royce Art Programme and its legacy of support to the contemporary art world. We look forward to a meaningful partnership, which will help keep our programme free and accessible to everyone, all year round.”
The Rolls Royce art program was founded as a way of supporting established and emerging contemporary artists through a series of commissions. As well as supporting internationally significant art institutions. The house of Rolls Royce is fully committed to the overall development and growth of contemporary art as is evident in their various programmes and patronages. The program itself seeks to bring new perspectives and fresh new works to the art world. The galleries themselves have attracted a broad range of audiences and have really established a strong and vocal voice for creative ideas and arts in general.
While the official Serpentine-Rolls Royce partnership will not kick in until 2019, the news that Rolls Royce Partners with Serpentine Galleries was greatly celebrated at the annual Serpentine summer party, which many will agree, was really made special by the fleet of stunning Rolls Royce vehicles chauffeuring patrons to and from the event.
