Luxury car manufacturer Rolls-Royce surprised the yachting world when it unveiled a Rolls-Royce Superyacht Concept at the Global Superyacht Forum in Amsterdam.
At the annual Global super yacht Forum, the new Rolls-Royce’s ‘Crystal Blue’ superyacht concept was unveiled by the luxury car manufacturer. This strikingly spectacular design left superyacht industry veterans and enthusiasts in awe and admiration.
The concept superyacht, named Crystal Blue, has been designed to be powered by a hybrid propulsion platform. The elegant yet strong lines of the vessel’s design is a true reflection of the Rolls-Royce brand.
Crystal Blue’s design boasts with two carbon Azipull thrusters that allow her to reach top speeds of 20 knots. She is also an LNG fuel driven yacht with pack twin MTU M65-N generator sets, linked up to an enormous battery bank that provides 1MWh of power.
The fuel tanks on board will be able to store fuel for up to 3 000 nautical miles. The superyacht has also been designed to operate with Blue Shadow, a 42-meter remotely controlled support vessel. The support vessel will be able to keep further fuel supplies as well as water toys. Thanks to the ship’s sophisticated sensors, display screens as well as several sets of cameras the crew will be able to monitor the superyacht as never before possible.
