Scott’s Richmond enchanting ‘Night Before Christmas’ installation with themed decor, festive menus, and live jazz, overlooking the Thames in London’s Richmond.
Scott’s Richmond has unveiled its enchanting festive transformation for the 2024 season. The celebrated restaurant, positioned with stunning views of the river and in proximity to Richmond Park, has partnered with prestigious 1 house Ruinart to present ‘The Night Before Christmas’ – a magical installation that draws inspiration from both the timeless holiday poem and the natural splendour of Richmond Park’s wildlife.
An Enchanting Riverside Setting
The restaurant’s seasonal metamorphosis encompasses both its interior spaces and its coveted riverside terrace. Themed lighting and carefully curated decorations transform the venue into a winter wonderland, while the heated seasonal terrace offers guests a cosy vantage point from which to admire the twinkling lights reflecting off the Thames.
This thoughtful transformation creates an intimate atmosphere perfect for both private dining and festive gatherings of up to 15 guests.
The location itself, at 4 Whittaker Avenue, places diners in one of London’s most sought-after boroughs, where the elegance of Richmond meets the natural beauty of the Thames. The restaurant’s position offers guests not just a meal, but a complete festive experience in one of London‘s most charming settings.
Festive Culinary Offerings
Under the guidance of Head Chef Tom Fraser, Scott’s Richmond has crafted an exceptional festive set-lunch menu that showcases the restaurant’s commitment to culinary excellence.
Available Monday through Friday from 12 pm to 5:30 pm until 13 December, the menu offers remarkable value at £34 for two courses or £39 for three courses. Diners can enhance their experience with a glass of Ruinart Brut N.V for an additional £18.
The festive menu begins with sophisticated starters that demonstrate the kitchen’s expertise, offering diners a choice between a delicate beetroot and gin cured salmon served with citrus crème fraîche or a rich ham hock and foie gras terrine.
For main courses, the seasonal British ingredients take centre stage with two carefully crafted options: a succulent roast ballotine of chicken enhanced with cranberry and chestnut stuffing, or a perfectly prepared fillet of trout complemented by Dorset crab and shellfish dressing.
The dessert selection captures the essence of British Christmas traditions with contemporary flair. Sweet-toothed diners can indulge in either a playful mince pie ice cream coupe or an elegant chocolate and clementine yule log.
For those preferring savoury endings, the kitchen offers a carefully curated plate of Stilton, served with house-made spiced pear and onion chutney and accompanied by a crisp walnut biscuit.
Sunday Traditions and Musical Entertainment
The restaurant’s celebrated Sunday Roasts continue throughout the festive period, served from 12 pm, offering a cherished weekend tradition in elegant surroundings. Adding to the atmospheric dining experience, Wednesday evenings in November and December feature a live jazz trio performing classic standards during dinner service.
For New Year’s Eve celebrations, Scott’s Richmond has arranged special entertainment, with a jazz band performing from 7 pm to 10 pm, followed by a DJ on the first floor from 10:30 pm until 1 am.
Architectural Excellence and Design
Scott’s Richmond spans two distinctive floors, each designed to create a unique dining experience. The ground floor centres around an impressive oyster bar, where shellfish dishes are served alongside fine wines and champagne. The first floor showcases the exceptional work of Martin Brudnizki Design Studios, featuring a central bar surrounded by an elegant wrap-around dining room.
A Legacy of Excellence
As a sister establishment to the iconic 1 location that has been serving London’s finest seafood since 1851, Scott’s Richmond maintains the high standards that have made the Scott’s name synonymous with exceptional British seafood dining. Since its opening in 2022, it has quickly established itself as a must-visit destination on Richmond’s glittering riverside.
Under the direction of Chef Director Tim Hughes and Head Chef Tom Fraser, with General Manager Pierre Lhomet ensuring impeccable service, the restaurant offers a menu that features seafood classics inspired by Mayfair’s original recipes, with a contemporary edge that pays homage to its riverside location.
