Smeralda Holding, a company wholly owned by Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), has partnered with LVMH Hospitality Excellence to manage two of the most prestigious and sought-after hotels in Costa Smeralda.
This move is part of the Smeralda Holding Group’s long-term strategy to elevate Costa Smeralda as a world-class destination, aligning with the unique character and heritage of the area.
LVMH Hospitality Excellence is a subsidiary of LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton, one of the world’s leading luxury groups.
The company has enlisted its two iconic brands, Belmond and Cheval Blanc, to manage the hotels.
The Hotel Romazzino will be managed by Belmond and will be rebranded as “Romazzino, A Belmond Hotel, Costa Smeralda,” and will be open for the 2024 season. The Hotel Pitrizza will be managed by Cheval Blanc and will be renamed Cheval Blanc Pitrizza, Costa Smeralda, after the completion of its renovation works in 2026.

All employees will remain employed by Sardegna Resorts S.r.l., which will retain ownership of the hotels’ property and businesses.

Both hotels, designed by the architects Luigi Vietti and Michele Busiri Vici in the 1960s, boast breathtaking views of the pristine Mediterranean waters and celebrate the heritage of the region.
The architects also contributed to the development of Porto Cervo, a popular tourist destination in Sardegna.
