His Royal Highness Prince Oscar, the Duke of Skåne, celebrated his second birthday on 2 March with his family in Sweden. Prince Oscar is the second grandson to King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia and is the only son to Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Prince Daniel of Sweden.
To commemorate His Highnesses’ birthday, images have been released by the Royal Court of Sweden, These warm and beautiful images were taken by Erika Gerdemark at Haga Palace, the family’s home. The images captures the two-year-old prince a enjoying cake, blowing out candles and a beautiful image of the Prince and his older sister Princess Estelle of Sweden.
Prince Oscar is third in line to the throne with his mother and older sister before him. Born on 2 March 2016 at Karolinska University Hospital in Solna, His Royal Highness was named Oscar Carl Olof. The Prince’s name and title was formally announced by King Carl XVI Gustaf in cabinet the day after his birth. The birth was further marked with a 21-gun salute on the island of Skeppsholmen.
