We scoured the streets in order to find the top cafes in Clapham Junction.
London is, without question, one of the most highly sought-after destinations in the world for people looking for the ultimate city break. It also happens to be one of the most popular tourist destinations, seeing millions of tourists from all over the globe flock there every year.
Now, when it comes to London, what are some of the first images that spring to mind? Do you think of Buckingham Palace? Perhaps you think of Westminster, the River Thames, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, or Big Ben? Whatever you think of, you probably don’t instantly think of cafes.
For everyday London folk, though, cafes are an integral part of everyday life and in places like Clapham Junction, you’ll find some of the best cafes in the area.
Check out our look at the top cafes in Clapham Junction here below.
Black Lab Coffee House
Address: 18 Clapham Common South Side, Clapham Common, London SW4 7AB
The first café we have for you today specialises in, shock horror, coffee, who could’ve guessed?
Black Lab Coffee House is the perfect little café for you to explore if you’re looking for a delicious cup of freshly brewed coffee, followed by a delicious homemade sandwich.
The coffee is perhaps the star of the show here, and this café has quickly established itself as the go-to destination for coffee lovers in Clapham and the surrounding areas.
Don’t get us wrong, the food here is lovely, but the coffee really is something special here. This café does get a little cosy as it isn’t the largest, so it can get busy at peak times but once you take your first sip, you’ll be so glad you did.
Bistro Union
Address: 40 Abbeville Rd, Clapham Common, London SW4 9NG
Next up we have Bistro Union.
This is a quintessentially British Bistro that is located in the very heart of Clapham and to say it isn’t your typical London café would be a vast understatement.
This is not greasy spoon food, but rather food to enjoy on a special occasion, and wow, is it worth it.
Some would argue it is more of a restaurant than a café, but we won’t get into semantics here, simply due to the fact that the food is out of this world.
The British fry up in particular, is a real best seller as it features British fry up classics such as black pudding, sausage, hash brown, and bacon, but with the twist. Ever heard of pigs in blankets and tater tots on a British fry up before? Well, you have now.
Jack’s at the Junction
Address: 252 Lavender Hill, Battersea, London SW11 1LJ
Located at Clapham Junction, this café is one of the busiest in the area, especially around breakfast time.
When you think of a London café, this is likely what’ll first spring to mind. The interior is nice inside, though basic, but it is the service and ambience here that really steals the show.
Jack’s at the Junction offer plenty of food and drink options, including freshly ground coffee, and the hugely popular Breakfast Burger, which features two beef burgers, cheese, bacon, and eggs sandwiched between two freshly baked breakfast buns.
If you want to get posher, why not tuck into eggs benedict, served with a grilled tomato and hash brown on the side.
