The Eternally Elegant El Palace Hotel In Barcelona

Originally the opened as the Ritz Barcelona, the El Palace Hotel has once again regained its original splendour and continues to draw the jet-set and glitterati of the world.

Situated in the centre of Barcelona, just a few steps away from the exclusive Passeig de Gràcia, the historic Barri Gòtic and the famous La Rambla, El Palace Barcelona is surrounded by luxury boutiques, fashionable restaurants and important sites that makes its location as centrally positioned as possible.

In 2017, the current El Palace Barcelona underwent an ambitious and comprehensive refurbishment in order to regain its legendary splendour, classic style and charm fromnits golden years.

Special attention has been paid to offering top-class cuisine and the public areas, presidential suites and standard rooms have been carefully restored. To ensure authenticity the hotel was refitted with handwoven carpets, restored antiques and exact replicas of objects such as lamps and curtains.

One of the most noteworthy redevelopments has been carried out on the seventh floor, with the creation of the Diana Roof Garden. A romantic 750 m2 area with more than fifty species of plants, fountains and pergolas, inspired by the Barcelona of the twenties and its indulgent gardens. When Barcelona enjoys beautifully hot weather, as it so often does, the beautiful pool area becomes a haven to relax in and escape the heat.

The Room

The El Palace Hotel Barcelona has 120 guest rooms fully-equipped with the latest technology and all of the luxury comforts you could ask for. The rooms have been tastefully decorated in the elegant and historically accurate style of its famed past.

The Art Suites

Exclusive, original and unique, the Art Suites were introduced back in 2016 when the decision was made to expand the existing suites. Each suite is inspired by a discipline (painting, dance, architecture, literature, sculpture or music) through a personality that is a reference in it and that boasts a close relationship with the hotel.

Restaurant L’Éclair is a place where gastronomy is truly multi-layered and dynamic. The food here has a focus on cooking with a traditional outlook – where each detail is important.

Born from the desire to respect the essence of each product and to make them the main focus of each dish, the menu at Restaurant l’Éclair is inspired by bistro gastronomy with French touches adapting to the essence of the city: giving pride of place to Mediterranean products and cuisine.

For something a little bit more ‘vibey’, every Friday and Saturday evening you can enjoy live music at the Bluesman Cocktail Bar.

Decorated in the finest of inviting hardwoods, the Bluesman Cocktail Bar is the finest place in Barcelona to enjoy a cocktail while listening to jazz or blues.

If you fancy a dip with a view, be sure to enjoy a relaxing day at the pool with its surprising views and leisurely atmosphere.

Inspired by the design of the hotel’s ancient Roman baths, it is ideal for enjoying a swim in the lap of luxury, sunbathing under the Barcelona skies and taking in the wonderful panoramic views of the city while you have a delicious appetiser prepared in the Winter Garden.

The El Palace Hotel is a truly great stay and has outstanding service and as if the great location is not enough the beautiful view from the balcony in the Suite really is worth the stay alone. Personally, I also loved the Roman Baths right in the Suite which dates back to 1919.
