The Fairytale Gina Alice and Lang Lang Wedding

Each year society weddings fill our calendar but it is safe to say that the Gina Alice and Lang Lang Wedding was and will remain one of the most memorable weddings of the year.

Fate was sealed for the young couple when they met in Berlin, where Gina graduated from the Hamburg School of Music and Drama, a few years ago. Following a fairytale-like courtship, the couple got engaged and ever since the news broke, it soon became one of the most anticipated weddings of 2019. Needless to say, no one was disappointed.

An exclusive and intimate group of guests gathered at the luxurious Hotel Shangri-La to celebrate the couple’s big day.

The moving ceremony saw an emotional exchange of vows between the bride and groom which once again reaffirmed their commitment and love towards one another. The bride looked exquisitely serene in an elegant white gown paired with a delicate tiara.

Following the ceremony, guests were greeted by an immense and decadent champagne pyramid flowing with what else but Moët & Chandon Impérial (now that is how you toast a new union!).

Guests of honour John Legend and Chrissy Teigen looked rather smitten themselves and were spotted holding hands throughout most of the day. Another power couple, in their own right, His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent and Her Royal Highness Princess Michael of Kent looked ever-chic with the Prince wearing an elegant tuxedo and Princess Michael opting for a light airy number which just oozed sophistication.

Other notable guests in attendance included Robert Smith and his wife Hope Dworaczyk, Celia Chou, Silas Chou, Irwin Jacobs, Joan Jacobs, Lukas Barwinski-Brown, Elizabeth Segerstrom, Jay Chou, Hannah Quinlivan, Sir Howard Stringer, Lady Jeniffer Stringer, Sandy Weill, Joan Weill, Roselee Goldberg, Placido Domingo, Dakota Jackson, the Chinese Ambassador to France Zhai Jun, Bianca Jagger, Jason Wu, tenor Jonas Kaufmann, owner of Steinway John Paulson, Yannick Bolloré, French film composer Alexandre Desplat, Kun Ling and the artists Cai Guoqiang, Fan Zeng, Yan Peimin, TangKa master Niang Ben, Huang Xiaoming and Ma Weihua.

Following the beautiful ceremony and reception, the fairytale ‘Gina Alice and Lang Lang wedding’ moved to Le Chateau de Versailles for a grand dinner. The choice for the couple to host the dinner there was a natural fit as superstar pianist Lang Lang has a personal connection with the Palace as he is currently serving as the cultural ambassador of Le Chateau de Versailles.

As if a wedding dinner at Versailles is not magical enough, Lang Lang and Gina Alice surprised everyone by playing a Bach piano piece together.

It is reported that after this wedding, the newlyweds will return to Lang Lang’s hometown Liaoning, China.
