The fabulous stretch of coastline known as the Athens Riviera first started gaining its reputation as the glamour hot-spot to be in during the late 1950s thanks to Greek cinema. It was however only in the 60s, thanks to jet travel that the Athens Riviera became a global hot spot for the well-heeled and glamour set.
Since then its popularity has come and gone but never losing what made it so unique. Although many ardent fans never forsook this summer spot, the Athens Riviera is once again experiencing a renaissance and at the heart of it is the hotpot The Island Club Restaurant.
Now, when we say hotspot, we mean hotspot. Owned by Chrysanthos Panas, the Island Club Restaurant first opened 25 years ago and as its rock foundations, it has stood the test of time and is currently more popular than ever.
This summer season has seen some of the most well-known personalities and celebrities choose the Island Club Restaurant as their favourite party destination. Recently Valentino and Giancarlo Giammeti visited Island, as it is also affectionately referred to. The famous fashion-duo arrived onboard Valentino’s yacht, the T.M Blue One travelling from Italy with a group of friends. These included Charlene Shorto, worldwide Valentino ambassador Carlos Souza, their son, Sean, and Marina Palma along with her daughter Giulia Caltagirone.
The list of celebrities who chose to spend some time here is endless, with celebs like HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco, Philipp Plein, and Elena Syraka having been spotted here throughout the summer.
