Did you know spending as little as 20 minutes outside can lower your stress levels by 10 percent? Well, you can probably imagine how easy and calm your mind will be if you manage to spend just about an hour outside.
But – wait – by outside, we don’t mean trekking, hiking, or trying to find the lost city of Atlantis.
It is good if you have the time and energy to try any of these adventures. But, if you are someone like me (a typical adult drowning in deadlines and responsibilities), you might want a more efficient solution.
In today’s article, we will help you with exactly that. From off-road hoverboards to plants, here are five creative and efficient ways to spend more time outdoors!
1. Try an Off-Road Hoverboard
An off-road hoverboard works just like a regular hoverboard. The only difference is in its wheel quality. The thicker, sturdier wheels allow you to use the hoverboard in all types of terrain. You won’t lose balance or acceleration – even on stones!
So, if you have a lawn around your house, consider using an off-road hoverboard to spend some fun time outside. You can also use it to run daily errands.
2. Ride a Bicycle
Do you go to an office, school, gym, or any other place regularly? If yes, then why not switch your daily car commute to riding a bicycle?
This will not only expose you to the goodness of nature but will also help you burn extra calories and save fuel charges.
With no fuel, you can reduce your carbon footprint on the planet, too!
3. Take Your Little One to the Park
Going to a park with your little ones is another great way to spend more time outdoors. You can sit on the grass and munch snacks while your kids play together. Or, you can also join them and have quality family time.
If you’re single or don’t have kids yet, don’t worry. Park can still be a good option to spend time with pets, friends, or even by yourself. Grab your favourite book to read or put on your Air Pods to listen to the latest podcasts – the possibilities are endless!
4. Go to Farmer’s Market
Farmer’s Markets have become quite a trend since the global pandemic. Small business owners showcase their speciality products on the weekends – boosting the local economy and allowing you to get your hands on some fresh, homemade items!
If your city has a weekly Farmer’s Market, consider shopping there instead of grocery stores and malls. The open-air market will make an amazing choice for family outings, too.
5. Buy a Plant!
Can’t go anywhere but still want to spend some time outdoors? Well, don’t worry because we have an idea for this situation too. Just buy a plant!
Having plants outside the house means you must go out and water them daily. You might also have to check up on them now and then – if they are fruit or flower-bearing plants. All of this will help increase your outdoor time.
