Rava Beach Club opens at Banyan Tree Phuket as Thailand’s longest beach club, offering luxury dining, wellness, and exclusive experiences on Bang Tao Beach.
Phuket has no shortage of beach clubs, but the latest arrival is already hard to ignore.
Rava Beach Club, newly opened at Banyan Tree Phuket, runs for 180 metres along Bang Tao Beach.
That makes it the longest beach club in Thailand, but its ambitions stretch further than size alone.
Why Rava?
The name comes from the Sanskrit word for sound and reverberation. It captures the idea behind the project, where music, food, art, and wellness are not side shows but part of the main experience.
Unlike many clubs that promote themselves as escapes, Rava’s pitch is more grounded. It is about recognising everyday life and finding the extraordinary within it.
The Thinking Behind The Rava Beach Club
The Banyan Group has been expanding its presence in luxury hospitality for years. Rava is one more step in that direction. As Sittichai Jitnatham, General Manager of Banyan Tree Phuket, explained:
“At Banyan Group, we have always been focused on evolving and curating experiences that meet the needs of our guests — present and future, and with Rava, our effort is to create a beach club that blends luxury, tropical lifestyle and a love for all things local. It is designed not as a place to escape the mundane and instead as a place where we celebrate the extraordinary in everyday moments.”
That approach mirrors the wider shift in travel. Visitors now expect authenticity and a link to local culture rather than just comfort and design.
Rava Beach Club’s Three Areas, Three Moods
The Rava Beach Club is divided into three sections. Each has its own tone, but they all share the same design language.
Young & Fun
This is the busiest area, built for energy. Open-air dining, sunbeds, cabanas, and three infinity pools fill the space.
The food offering leans toward small plates, 1, wines, and premium spirits. It is polished but unpretentious, with the pools doubling as focal points and cool-down spots.
Master Grill
Here, the focus shifts to food, specifically open-fire cooking. The kitchen works with dry-aged cuts and seafood grilled whole.
The design reflects the theme, warm and straightforward, drawing attention to both the skill of cooking and the act of dining itself.
Prestige
The private section, open only to Banyan Group Residence Owners. Prestige offers indoor dining rooms, semi-private lounges, its own pool, and full facilities.
It is meant as a quieter, more exclusive environment for residents.
A Benefit for Owners
For Banyan homeowners, Prestige is more than an indulgence. Stuart Reading, Managing Director of Banyan Group Residences, put it plainly:
“For our homeowners, Rava Beach Club is more than an amenity; it’s a privilege.
Exclusive access to the Prestige Zone allows our residential community to enjoy a level of beachfront luxury that’s unmatched on the island. It enhances the everyday experience of ownership and elevates the value of our branded residences across Laguna Phuket.”
That access has obvious lifestyle appeal but also boosts property value, a point not lost on the group.
Programs and Atmosphere
Beyond food and design, the Rava Beach Club aims to function as a complete lifestyle venue. Wellness workshops, creative sessions, and evening entertainment form part of the schedule.
Guests can spend the day by the pool with light dining and drinks, then stay on for sunset cocktails and live sets. The shift in energy from day to night is deliberate.
A Wider Step for Phuket
Paul Wilson, Managing Director of Laguna Phuket, sees the launch as more than just another addition:
“The debut of the RAVA Beach Club marks a significant milestone for Laguna Phuket and represents an exciting expansion for the Banyan Group into the beach club scene. We are redefining the beach club scene on the island with this sophisticated oasis, which combines luxury, a vibrant atmosphere and distinctive experiences, all complemented by stunning views and architectural brilliance. The launch of RAVA caters to the diverse tastes of our guests and significantly enhances our leisure and entertainment offerings as a resort destination.”
For Laguna, it means a stronger entertainment offering. For Phuket more broadly, it points to how beach clubs are changing, moving towards lifestyle destinations with multiple functions, not just food and drink.
Location and Access
Rava Beach Club sits within Laguna Phuket, a resort complex covering more than 1,000 acres. The development links hotels, dining, and leisure through a system of boats and shuttle buses.
Phuket International Airport is just over 20 minutes away, keeping it practical for international visitors. The setting itself is part of the appeal, with three kilometres of sand running along Bang Tao Beach.
The Design
Architecturally, the club makes use of its long stretch of beachfront. The three zones are laid out in sequence, flowing naturally from one to another.
The style mixes modern tropical architecture with touches of Thai influence. Local materials feature throughout.
Multiple pools, varied dining settings, and residential amenities are pulled into one coherent plan.
Setting a Benchmark
Rava shows how beach clubs in Thailand are evolving. Instead of being single-purpose venues, they are becoming multi-layered. Food, art, wellness, and property benefits are being tied together.
In doing so, Banyan Group has created something that goes beyond the traditional definition of a club.
Other developments across Southeast Asia will likely watch how this model works. If it succeeds, more venues could follow suit.
For now, Rava Beach Club stands as the longest beach club in Thailand and a marker of where luxury hospitality in the region is heading.
