Monteviot Lights, the highly anticipated winter light festival debuting this year, is excited to unveil its partnership with a local charity in the Scottish Borders,Meeting of Minds.
This collaboration reflects the festival’s commitment to lending a helping hand to the local community and assisting a deserving charity in its crucial endeavours.
Meeting of Minds: The Chosen Charity
The process of selecting a charity partner was carried out through a popular vote. To qualify for consideration, all nominated charities had to meet specific criteria.
These criteria included registration with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) and possession of a valid charity number. Furthermore, the chosen charity had to actively engage in enriching and supporting communities within the Scottish Borders.
Meeting of Minds, the selected charity partner, will receive a generous donation of 250 tickets for Monteviot Lights, with an approximate value of £4,500. These tickets can be distributed among the individuals the charity serves or used to raise funds through auctions.
Monteviot Lights is committed to making a significant impact in the Scottish Borders, and this partnership perfectly aligns with its vision of spreading joy while giving back to the community.
The Inspiring Story of Meeting of Minds
Meeting of Minds was founded in 2015 by a dedicated group of mothers who shared the experience of raising a child with additional and complex needs.
Their shared challenges brought them together in their quest for local community support and answers from professional agencies.
With each passing year, the charity’s reputation for dedication and hard work has continued to grow in the local area.
Meeting of Minds has succeeded in creating and nurturing a much-needed support network for families and caregivers of children with additional and complex needs.
The charity’s ultimate goal is to expand awareness of its mission, provide increased access to essential professionals and agencies, host more educational events, and foster additional opportunities for connecting with others facing similar situations.
Michael, the 13th Marquis of Lothian, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership search, saying, “We don’t just want Monteviot Lights to be a fantastic event for families; we also want the event to be a force for good, supporting communities across the Scottish Borders.
We are delighted to partner with Meeting of Minds, with whom we can work and support. As we envision the event being held annually, we hope to continue supporting worthy causes throughout the Borders.”
