Aimee Lou Wood, Connor Swindells and Lady Amelia Windsor spotted at the La Perla’s 65th Anniversary Party hosted at Carlton House.

La Perla is one of those brands that has established itself in our collective consciousness to the point where the word itself now, to most of us, means underwear.

It has become the go-to brand when shopping for luxurious and elegant underwear (not even to mention their nightwear, swimwear, etc). In fact, it has grown to the point where it is the kind of a gift that equals spotting a Christian Louboutin box in the gift bag.

Since Ada Masotti founded La Perla back in 1954, our love affair with the brand has continued to grow. It is, therefore, no surprise that when an exclusive party hosted in the Music Room at Carlton House was thrown to celebrate their 65th anniversary, the who’s who of society, fashion and film arrived to celebrate the brand’s milestone as well as to take a closer peek at the brand’s limited-edition anniversary collection; Petit Macramé Noir.

This exquisite collection celebrates and indulges in what makes Le Perla so special. The sophisticated elegance, yet terribly sexy look, of the pieces, are adorned with pefectly hand-placed crystals and fine macramé work. Most pieces include delicate Chantilly Lace that simply makes you swoon and never want to take it off!

Upon arrival, guests were met with a glass of FIOL prosecco paired with Raphia chocolate truffles. The canapés served included roast sirloin of beef and horseradish rosti, smoked salmon with lemon crème fraiche and wild mushroom arancini with bearnaise sauce.

Guests made their way through the room that was dotted with pieces from the new Petit Macramé Noir collection as well as some of the brand’s most iconic pieces from their archive that was on display.

Alessandra Bertuzzi, the Creative Director at La Perla commented: “La Perla has always created pieces that make women feel beautiful and confident by focusing on exquisite quality and always ensuring that the lingerie we make supports women both physically and emotionally. We have seen more and more over the years that women are reflecting their individual style in lingerie too and often it’s worn as outwear. The Anniversary collection is all black and so it’s even easier for her to wear how she likes for any occasion”

Spotted in the crowd was British actress Aimee Lou Wood. The 24-year-old rose to international prominence after having played Aimee Gibbs in the Netflix original comedy-drama series Sex Education. The actress wore a sleek pinstripe suit with a plunging neckline. The young actress finished off the look with slicked-back hair which she tied back with a large black bow.

Other notable guests included Connor Swindells, Lady Amelia Windsor, Maddi Waterhouse, Clara Paget, Anna Brewster, Nadine Leopald, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Bee Beardsworth, Amber Anderson, Bettina Looney, Ellen Von Unwerth and Jessie Bush.
