‘Tis the season to be fabulous, and Christmas has arrived at the legendary Annabel’s in Mayfair in all its splendour. Last night saw the unveiling of the club’s new Christmas facade and as expected, it does not disappoint!
The Carousel of Dreams design that encompasses the entire height of the club’s twinkling against the night sky was a truly spectacular sight and the illuminated performance by The Kingdom Choir singing “Silent Night” and “Stand by Me” provided an extra layer of festive cheer.
Designed by The Birley Clubs Creative Director Tatiana Kharchylava, the installation takes unexpected elements of Annabel’s interiors and transports them outside for all to see and delight in. The focus of the facade is the famous white Pegasus horse with wings, which is elevated about the Club’s cantilevered staircase and is a key element of Annabel’s iconic club interior.
The Pegasus is reimagined in a lavish winter wonderland and surrounded by Victorian-era characters hinting at the delightful interiors and artworks within. To ensure that everyone gets to have a glimpse of this Christmas wonderland the facade will be in place until the 4th of January 2023.
But, as per usual with Annabel’s, the facade, no matter how decadent, is just the start and what is behind the closed door is where the real magic happens!
Inside, Members and their guests will be able to enjoy Annabel’s specially created festive specials to please the most discerning palettes. With offerings ranging from a full Christmas feast to a sweet pick-me-up during a day of Christmas shopping. On the menu, the ultimate holiday luxury comes in a Lobster & Prawn Cocktail with a Spicy Cocktail Sauce & Oscietra Caviar, perfectly paired with a fresh and delicate glass of Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque 2014 champagne – a house icon whose pale gold bubbles radiate clarity with subtle glints of festive apple green.
Additional non-vintage cuvées from Maison Perrier-Jouët are also available, including Blason Rosé, Blanc des Blancs and Grand Brut to cater for all tastes. For dessert, a decadent Annabel’s Christmas Snow Globe made of 70% Dark Chocolate Mousse & Madagascar Vanilla Crémeux with a Crunchy Hazelnut Sponge & Warm Caramel Sauce.
The seasonal cocktails menu is both festive and inspired including a Gingerbread Martini with Plymouth Gin, The Mistletoe Spritz made with Absolut Elyx and The Jolly Highball with Monkey 47 Gin.
Annabel’s will also be welcoming back its much-loved Christmas children’s entertainment for Members’ little ones aged 3 to 15 years old on weekends. With roaming entertainment throughout the club, including a magician performing wondrous tricks and meet and greets from special visitors from the North Pole. Santa Claus and his friendly elves will keep the kids entertained with tableside magic, handing out candy canes and listening to their Christmas wishes for the year, while they dine in the club.
The Annabel’s Tarka kids club will be keeping the fun going with Christmas-themed games and live interactive entertainment. And every Sunday from 4th to 18th December, a Carousel-inspired Christmas Wonderland will transform The Nightclub, for the kids to play and take part in games battling against the cheeky elves staying at the club.
Keeping in line with the giving spirit, Annabel’s will also be hosting a toy and clothing donation initiative, working with The Tower Hamlets Hub via The Caring Family Foundation, and inviting its members who are attending the Christmas Wonderland to support this fantastic cause by making donations throughout the month of December.
Now, if that doesn’t get you in the festive spirit, nothing will!
