Art Basel Announces Gallery List For Basel 2018 Show

Art Basel has established itself over its 48 years existence as one of the most important features on the global art-scene calendar. This year’s Art Basil 2018 enjoys a premier line-up of galleries from around the world. The list includes 293 galleries, drawn from 35 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia as well as from both North and South America.

The lineup will include a staggering number of almost 4 000 artists that will be displaying their work to the international art world. Of the 293 galleries, 17 galleries will be joining the fair for the first time. This allows this year’s representation of galleries to be more diversified than ever before with young galleries exhibiting with long-established institutions.

The art fair will be taking place at Messe Basel in Switzerland from 14 – 17 June 2018. Some of the first time participants in the fair include  White Space – Beijing as well as four new exhibitors from the US. These include Essex Street, Hosfelt Gallery, Freedman Fitzpatrick, and the Franklin Parrasch Gallery. Representing Europe, the twelve new exhibitors are Richard Saltoun Gallery, Jan Kaps, Sandy Brown, Antoine Levi, mor charpentier, Madragoa, Croy Nielsen, Barbara Gross Galerie, Galerie Max Mayer, Carlos/Ishikawa, Galerie Lange + Pult and Galerie Bernard Bouche.

Art Basel 2018

Art Basil 2018 will see the 20th Baloise Art Prize be awarded to up to two artists exhibiting in Statements. The winners will be announced during the show. The winning artist’s works will be acquired by the Baloise Group and then donated to two leading European museums. There the museums will hold solo exhibitions for the winners of the prestigious award.

For the first year, the show will introduce a brand new site for the Unlimited sector. This area will be located on the upper floor of Hall 1.
