Set in Hollywood in 1969, the film follows television star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stunt double played by Brad Pitt try to navigate their way through a dramatically changing industry.
The film is filled to the brim with the who’s who of Hollywood making up the cast. Other than the two leading men, the movie also sees Margot Robbie, Kurt Russell, Timothy Olyphant, Dakota Fanning, Luke Perry, Margaret Qualley and the legend himself Mr Al Pacino make up part of the A-list cast.
What makes this film truly unique is that it has the ‘bang’ of a blockbuster with the charm and emotional intensity of an independent film. It is so well written that during the premiere, director Quentin Tarantino was seen laughing at most of the jokes he himself wrote. It is, so far, one of our favourite films of the year and is a definite must see.
After the screening invited guests made their way to the JW Marriott Hotel in Cannes for the Sony Pictures’ after-premiere party of which Breitling was an Official Partner.
