June has three reasons to get lost in Cecchini’s world of poetry, passion and delicious cuts, with three new menus to try at Carna. Each menu is a different experience, celebrating different aspects of Italian cuisine and Tuscan heritage.
These are not just about the food; they are Italian culture and hospitality. From the Italian National Day Panzano Brunch to the family warmth of Father’s Day and the wine and food pairing in the wine dinners.
Italian National Day Panzano Brunch: June 2, 2024
Carna will celebrate Italian National Day with a Festa della Repubblica Brunch, inspired by the festive traditions of Cecchini’s hometown, Panzano in Chianti.
Known for its generous and convivial culinary traditions, this brunch is a feast of food, beer and wine. An invitation to eat the best of Italy with friends and family in a fun atmosphere.
Guests can start with a selection of antipasti: Antipasti Della Casa, Formaggi E Salumi, Olive, Focaccia, Verdure In Agrodolce, and Insalata Verde. Appetisers will feature Tartare Di Manzo Al Profumo Del Chianti (Black Angus Rump Beef Tartare), Burrata Caprese E Basilico (Apulian Burrata), Melanzane Alla Parmigiana (Eggplant, fresh Mozzarella, Basil, Tomato Sauce). This is just the beginning of a delicious meal, showcasing the freshness of Tuscany.
Carna will serve Cecchini’s famous Rigatoni Al Sugo Di Puntine Di Maiale (Homemade Pasta with Braised Pork Ribs) and selection from the charcoal grill: Salsiccia alla Griglia (Charcoal Grilled Homemade Beef and Pork Sausage), Italian Bistecca Toscana (Italy, Grain-fed Frisonat, Carima, 45 Days Dry-aged), Bistecca Etrusca 300 Days (Australia Beef Chuck on The Bone, 60 Days Dry-aged). Each dish is a showcase of Cecchini’s expertise.
For dessert, the signature Tiramisù di Casa (Layers of Savoiardi Biscuit, Coffee, Mascarpone Cream, Rich Chocolate). Italian beer will be free-flowing. Reception starts at 12:00 pm, brunch at 12:30 pm. The price is HK$980 per person, plus 10% service charge.
Father’s Day at Carna: June 15-16, 2024
Celebrate Father’s Day at Carna with a brunch and dinner, served family-style in the Tuscan way. The dinner will have three special dishes for the dads, so it’s a must-attend for everyone. This is an occasion to bring the family together over good food and company.
The brunch starts with antipasti, then an unlimited reorder of appetisers and pasta. Highlights are Battuta Di Manzo Con Tartufo E Salsa Al Pepperoni (Black Truffle Rump Beef Tartare) and Carpaccio di Manzo E Pane Croccante (Sliced Raw Beef). This is just the beginning of the meal.
The main course is a meat platter to share from the charcoal grill. Choose your favourite steak: Black Angus Cube Roll (HK$728 for 2 people minimum), Chuck Flap (HK$788 for 2 people minimum), or Carima Costata Di Manzo (HK$888 for 4 people minimum). Plus unlimited side dishes and Zeppole di San Giuseppe al Tiramisu for dessert.
For an additional HK$280 per person, enjoy free-flowing sommelier-selected prosecco, wines, mixologist cocktails, house draft beer, and sodas. Carna launched a series of monthly wine dinners, that started with the Frescobaldi Wine Dinner on 28 May. Hosted by Stefano Benini, Vice President & Export Director of the 30th Generation Family of Frescobaldi, this dinner promises a sumptuous culinary experience. These events are designed to celebrate the marriage of fine wine and exceptional cuisine.
The menu for the Frescobaldi Wine Dinner includes Tartare Di Manzo, Cannoli, Truffle, Misticanza, Ricotta (Chopped Black Angus beef tartare, potato shell, Truffle, Mesclun, Ricotta cheese) paired with Castello Pomino, Benefizio Riserva, Tuscana, 2021.
Other selections include Flan Di Funghi, Con Cream Di Parmiggiano Di Fresolbaldi, and Croccante Di Mandorle (Porcini flan, Parmigiano Foam, Almond crumble, Sautéed porcini). These dishes are carefully selected to complement the wine pairings, creating a harmonious dining experience.
The main course, Duo Di Manzo Con Salsa Al Merlot (Duo of Beef chuck, Soft Polenta, Red Wine Sauce, Gremolada), is paired with Ripe al Convento, CastelGiocondo, Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, 2017.
