One of South Africa’s premier luxury leather accessory brands, Missibaba, has launched their new collection entitled Basic. The new collection will become a part of the brand’s permanent line and is set to expand over the next year.
The Basic Collection allows for the brand to be introduced to a whole new customer base due to the collection’s affordable price tier. When asked if the brand sees itself as an exclusive luxury retailer or as a label that plays within the attainable space, founder Chloe Townsend commented that they want to bring Missibaba’s energy to as many people as possible. “We all have different needs, from picking up a quick gift to investing in a luxurious bespoke piece. By offering a more diverse range of products we are able to make more people part of our Missibaba dream.” she continued.
“We’re looking to attract young professionals who are looking for a bit of fun and colour to brighten up their wardrobe… without breaking the bank.”
Although the Basic Collection offers an affordable entry-level tier to luxury lovers, each item remains true to the brand in construction, quality as well as design. The collection comprises of two main design elements, the Basic Tote and the Basic Sling.
The Basic Sling consists of six designs. These include Blue Mesh, Floral, Mustard, Pink, Royal Blue & Tan, Stone Lizard. The Basic Tote line is made up of five designs, the Aqua Serpent, Fizzer Pink, Floral, Royal Blue and Charcoal Lizard. The Basic Collection’s pricing starts from ZAR1 250.00 with ZAR1 600.00 for additional floral detailing.
The collection is available for purchase at the Missibaba Watershed and Bree Street stores. They will also be available at the Cape Town Neighbourgoods Market.
