Ever since its inception, the Oscars has been as much about the red carpet as it is about the ceremony. As with every year, this year’s Oscars saw a dazzling display of glamours gowns paired with magnificent jewellery. Premier Japanese jewellers NIWAKA was a fan favourite on the red carpet for the 90th Academy Awards and brought new meaning to elegant simplicity.

We take a look at two of our favourite NIWAKA looks to hit the red carpet this year.
Lupita Nyong’o
Black Panther star Lupita Nyong’o, who also presented at this year’s 90th Academy Awards, was dazzling in a gold and black atelier Versace gown with Birman shoes. The Kenyan-Mexican actress paired her look with a selection of rings and earnings from the KARAHANA collection and with another ring from the YAEGASUMI collection.
The look was completed by five jewellery elements. The first being a beautiful pair of diamond earrings set in 18k white gold. The earrings design comprises of mismatched pattern in which the one depicts a flower and the other a vine. The floral theme was further pulled through with an exquisite pink gold and diamond floral ring. Nyong’o further sported two KARAHANA rings of identical design, one diamonds set in 18k yellow gold and the other diamonds set in 18k pink gold. The last piece is beautiful in its simplicity. The diamond and 18k yellow gold YAEGASUMI ring is a perfect balance between simplistic design and geometric lines.
Jennifer Lawrence
The Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence, one of the highest paying actors in Hollywood, has managed to make sever ‘best dress for Oscars 2018’ lists with her spectacularly beautiful metallic Christian Dior dress. Keeping with the rule of five, the Hunger Games star’s look was completed with five jewellery pieces. This included a stunning SUIREN amethyst and diamond ring set in 18k white gold. The actress wore two classic KUON diamonds in 18k white gold tennis bracelets and a UMEUTAGE diamond and white gold bracelet with a delicate floral accent. Finally, the look was finished off with a pair of elegant KUON earrings that is made up of diamonds set in both 18k white gold as well as 18k pink gold.
