Rosetti Shipyard Launches New Super Yacht

Palm Beach | United States

Today Rosetti Shipyard and super yacht builder is considered as one of the most respected shipbuilders in Italy, but the company’s illustrious past had a much more humble origin. Mr. Marino Rosetti founded the company in 1925 in the Italian city of Ravenna. With its inception the company started off as a suppler to the local market of steel works, carpentry and small storage tanks. Shortly after this Rosetti started with hull maintenance works and pressure vessels construction. By the 1950’s Rosetti started the design and fabrication of self propelled vessels, unloading as well as storage systems for the cereal industry.

When Rosetti super yachts unveiled its first 85m supply vessel concept it was met by the market to great acclaim. At this year’s Palm Beach International Boat Show Rosetti officially launched two custom super yachts designed by acclaimed naval architect Tommaso Spadolini. The first 48m sub-500GT is referred to as the ‘pocket-sized’ version of her larger cousin while still incorporating the same philosophy of the 85m cousin. The other, we will take a closer look at is the spectacular 85m super yacht with technical platform as well as a powerful propulsion system built by Rolls-Royce.

At a gross tonnage of 2 700, the 85m super yacht is based on the same technical platform offered by Rolls-Royces as to that of the 85m Supply Vessel produced by Rosetti. Strategic modifications have been made in order to account for the different weight distribution of the superstructure. The sleek exterior has been exquisitely styled by Tommaso Spadolini. The designer commented:

“Simplicity and elegance are the leitmotifs of the exterior design,” says the designer Tommaso Spadolini. Whereas the Supply Vessel has more utilitarian lines befitting her explorer vocation, the superyacht has a softer, more sinuous profile, while the reverse bow adds a hint of determination and aggression.”

‘This is a high-volume super yacht that offers huge owner and guest spaces, both inside and out. But as always, we can offer bespoke solutions. We’ve developed a version with four decks instead of five, for example, which reduces the gross tonnage and provides a more sporty profile. It’s completely up to the individual client.”

says Fulvio Dodich – RSY partner and chairman. The luxury super yacht boasts with four MTU 16V 4000 M43S engines that produces a total of 8 560 kW. Her two Rolls-Royce AZP100 2 500 kW propulsion systems results in a cruising speed of 15 knots and can reach a maximum speed of 20 knots. With a waterline length of 84.5m she enjoys a range of 5 500 nautical miles at autonomy of 15 knots.

This super yacht’s size might be impressive but the vessel’s real highlight is her sumptuous interiors. A standout feature is her wellness area and enormous beach club. This area hosts a gym with uninterrupted views overlooking the swim platform, plush massage room, sauna and hamman through the panoramic glass wall. When the two side terraces are deployed the beam is extended to 19m.

Furthermore, the yacht has a tank-top deck level with additional dry and cold stores, a laundry and linen storage room as well as a workshop. She also has, beside the beach club, a lower deck that is dedicated to the galley and crew area. The design has ensured ultimate operational considerations and comfort for the crew as they generally spend long periods at sea without shore support when it comes to this class of yacht. The super yacht boasts with a full-beam VIP suite as well as four guest cabins that are situated on the main deck forward. This allows for the cabins to take full advantage of the abundant natural light that are available thanks to the large windows.
