Developed in collaboration with Netflix and Shondaland, this extraordinary experience will transport you to the glamourous Regency era. Launching on 4 May 2023, the Queen Charlotte Afternoon Tea at The Lanesborough promises an unforgettable dining experience with a contemporary twist.
Immerse Yourself in Regency Splendour

Step into The Lanesborough’s opulent dining room, bathed in natural daylight through its magnificent glass dome during the day and radiantly illuminated by softly lit chandeliers in the evening. This grand setting, adorned with bas-relief artwork inspired by the Regency period and featuring Wedgwood china, exudes the timeless elegance of a bygone era.
A Culinary Tribute to Queen Charlotte and Regency London
Masterfully crafted by The Lanesborough’s Head Pastry Chef, Salvatore Mungiovino, the menu for the Queen Charlotte Afternoon Tea pays homage to the key characters from Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, as well as the iconic Lanesborough House, which was remodelled in 1825 by William Wilkins, epitomizing the classical style of the Regency era.
Delight in an array of finger sandwiches and savouries, including the delectable combinations of tea-cured salmon with lemon and caper cream, Coronation chicken with golden raisins and fresh coriander, devilled egg mayonnaise with mustard cress, organic cucumber with cream cheese, basil, and chive, and a mouthwatering Montgomery cheddar scone served with cheese custard.
Complementing these savoury treats, you’ll also be treated to The Lanesborough’s irresistible scones, accompanied by clotted cream and jam.
Exquisite Signature Cakes and Sweet Delights
Prepare to be dazzled by Mungiovino’s meticulously curated cake and sweet treat concept, featuring four exquisite highlights.
First, we have “Your Majesty,” a hand-crafted sharing cake dedicated to the star of the show, Queen Charlotte. This delicate delight boasts an elegant strawberry-scented cream bavaroise infused with an orange gel, resting on an almond crunchy base and adorned with gold and red hues. The cake is crowned with an edible Royal icing masterpiece, befitting of a Queen.

Next, we present “King George – Dreams of Venus,” an homage to King George III and his passion for astronomy. This distinguished cake showcases a sphere made of 54% chocolate mousse, accompanied by Jasmin-infused dark chocolate ganache, cocoa sable, and a glaze depicting the beauty of the blue and white universe.
For fans of Lady Violet, we offer “The Lady Violet,” an elegant chocolate bavaroise with a delightful mango compote, and lime Chantilly, resting on a buttery shortbread base and adorned with tempered chocolate and delicate sugar flowers.
Lastly, we pay tribute to Lady Danbury with “Danbury Delight,” a scrumptious creation crafted from Berryiolette pistachio gateaux combined with a vanilla whipped ganache, perched on a vanilla sable base, and elegantly finished with purple tempered chocolate, showcasing Lady Danbury’s signature purple.
The Queen Charlotte Cocktail and Non-Alcoholic Delights
To complement your culinary journey, The Lanesborough’s Head of Bars, Mickael Perron, presents The Queen Charlotte cocktail, inspired by the original Regency Gin Punch.

This essential cocktail, which formed an integral part of social life during the Regency period, is a refreshing blend of Fords Gin, Chambord liqueur, cranberry, exotic lychee, home vanilla sweetness, and lime sunshine. Topped with a generous splash of Champagne, this exquisite concoction is the perfect way to toast to a royal experience.
For those seeking a non-alcoholic alternative, indulge in a tantalizing mocktail crafted by combining Noughty Sparkling Rosé with cranberry juice, exotic lychee, home vanilla sweetness, and lime sunshine.
