Zang Toi Spring Summer 2019 | New York Fashion Week

New York | United States

Throughout most of the Spring Summer 2019 collections, over multiple fashion weeks, we have seen a continuous string of influences from eras past find their way onto the runway. The latest of these were seen at the Zang Toi Spring Summer 2019 collection last night.

The 57-year old Malaysian designer has always had a flair for making elegant designs bold, striking and, ironically, extravagant in simplicity. The Zang Toi Spring Summer 2019 collection is no exception. The Zang Toi NYFW show saw clean lines and a major influence from the De Stijl movement, popularized between 1917 and 1931, the collection was the ultimate in strong lines, the blocking of colour (rather than colour blocking) and strong, flat hues. Black, white, blue and green form the base, with purple (major new trend) and zebra print quite predominant throughout.
