London’s prestigious Annabel’s private members’ club transformed its Berkeley Square façade into an enchanting snow globe installation on 14 November, marking the launch of The Caring Family Foundation’s ambitious 2024 ‘Food From The Heart’ campaign.
The unveiling ceremony, held at the iconic 46 Berkeley Square address, showcased the club’s commitment to combining architectural brilliance with meaningful philanthropy in the fight against child hunger and food insecurity.
This highly anticipated addition to London’s social calendar demonstrates how the worlds of luxury hospitality and charitable giving can unite for a crucial cause.
Artistic Vision Meets Philanthropic Purpose
The architectural masterpiece, conceptualised by Tatiana Kharchylava, Creative Director of The Birley Clubs, features a magnificent snow globe housing a magical bird that arches gracefully over the club’s entrance.
This whimsical creation transports viewers to a place of innocence and delight, serving as more than mere decoration,it stands as a powerful symbol of hope and childhood wonder, reflecting the foundation’s commitment to nurturing young lives by ensuring they have the nourishment they need to thrive.
The evening’s festivities reached their pinnacle with a heartwarming performance by a children’s choir, whose renditions of beloved holiday classics including “Somewhere in My Memory” and “Winter Wonderland” captivated the assembled guests and passersby alike.
The celebration created an intimate atmosphere of friendship, philanthropy, and the magic of the holiday season, with guests enjoying a night filled with joy and meaningful connection.
Expanding the Fight Against Child Hunger
The Caring Family Foundation, in partnership with The Felix Project, London’s largest food redistribution charity, has announced unprecedented targets for their latest campaign.
The initiative aims to distribute 300,000 meals across London by the end of 2024, with plans to deliver an additional 700,000 meals by the conclusion of 2025.
This expanded effort will bring the foundation’s total contribution to over 3.5 million meals since its inception in 2020, marking a significant milestone in the Foundation’s ongoing mission to alleviate child hunger and food insecurity throughout the capital.
From Pandemic Response to Sustained Support
The ‘Food From The Heart’ campaign originated in 2020 when Richard and Patricia Caring committed their hospitality group to deliver “One Million and One Meals” to frontline workers and families most affected by the pandemic.
What began as an emergency response has evolved into a sustained effort to support families and children in need, addressing the crucial connections between nutrition, educational achievement, and personal well-being.
The campaign was born from the desire to play a role in alleviating the disastrous impacts that the COVID-19 pandemic had on the growing problem of child food poverty across the UK and has since developed into a comprehensive year-round initiative.
Festive Events Supporting the Cause
This season brings an expansion of the foundation’s community engagement efforts. On 5 December, TCFF will host a special festive gathering at Surrey Square Primary School.
Volunteers from Richard and Patricia’s hospitality group, including staff from Bill’s and The Birley Clubs, will bring holiday cheer to students through festive entertainment, activities, and a special lunch provided by Bill’s. TCFF believes in the power of these joyful moments to create lasting memories, fostering a spirit of support and togetherness among children and their families.
Further extending its festive initiatives, TCFF will present a spectacular Festive Wonderland at The Dorchester, also designed by Tatiana Kharchylava. This collaboration between two of London’s most distinguished hospitality establishments will see all ticket proceeds directed towards the foundation’s mission to combat food poverty and child hunger, uniting two of London’s most renowned hospitality icons for a worthy cause.
A Legacy of Care and Commitment
The Caring Family Foundation, established in 2019 by Richard and Patricia Caring, has grown into a powerful force for positive change in both the UK and Brazil. Its vision is to build a world free from hunger, harm, and hurt, where women and children can thrive.
The foundation operates in both countries and is dedicated to supporting partners and organisations working towards a future where every child has access to a nutritious meal, all women are free from violence, and rainforest communities can flourish through tree-planting initiatives.
As it enters its fifth year of operation, the foundation has emerged as one of the UK’s largest contributors to Brazilian reforestation, with over two million trees planted. Its comprehensive approach to social welfare has resulted in the distribution of more than two million meals and the provision of over 20,000 domestic abuse services across both countries.
Annabel’s: Where Heritage Meets Contemporary Purpose
For over six decades, Annabel’s has stood as a beacon of London’s social scene. Since relocating to its current Grade I listed Georgian mansion house at 46 Berkeley Square in 2018, the club has masterfully balanced its storied heritage with contemporary relevance.
At its core, the club remains a place to entertain and be entertained, offering a timeless combination of comfort, glamour and intimacy. The historic private members club has earned a global reputation founded on superb service, exclusive ambience, first-class cuisine, and an unparalleled events calendar.
This latest initiative demonstrates how the venue continues to serve as both a premier entertainment destination and a platform for meaningful social impact.
Looking Ahead
As the snow globe installation continues to enchant visitors to Berkeley Square throughout the festive season, it serves as a daily reminder of the ongoing work needed to combat food insecurity in one of the world’s wealthiest cities.
The campaign represents a significant step forward in addressing child food poverty, combining the power of London’s hospitality industry with focused philanthropic action.
Throughout December, this annual campaign will continue to provide meals to children who are facing food insecurity this holiday season, working in partnership with The Felix Project to deliver meals across the UK to children most in need of food.
