Dorchester Collection’s LA properties recently announced two new exhibitions, available to visit from October – at The Beverly Hills Hotel a large-scale photography exhibition titled, Reflections and Hotel Bel-Air unveils a Chris Wolston exhibition as the latest addition to its renowned sculpture garden.
The Beverly Hills Hotel, part of the esteemed Dorchester Collection, is pleased to present Reflections by the renowned Los Angeles-based fine art photographer Jin-Woo Prensena. This newly curated collection of Prensena’s breathtaking work comprises 24 captivating natural landscapes and aerial photographs captured across the globe, including California.
- A Journey Across the World: Prensena’s Photographic Odyssey
- From Desert Dunes to Coastal Bliss: Prensena’s Eclectic Vision
- Capturing Beauty from Above: Prensena’s Unique Aerial Perspective
Prensena’s images transport the viewer to some of Earth’s most enchanting locales, from the windswept Namib Desert to the icy backcountry of Whistler, offering a moment of serenity and inspiration amidst the city’s bustle.
As Rebecca Senf, Chief Curator, Center for Creative Photography Tucson, Arizona observed, “This aerial photographic language can present a puzzle to a viewer, creating tension between the abstracted view and a viewer’s desire to ‘crack the code’ and understand what they are looking at.”
Through his extrospective works, Prensena affirms that profound beauty exists everywhere in a complex world.
A Synergy of Beauty: Prensena and The Beverly Hills Hotel
The Beverly Hills Hotel’s commitment to quality and excellence aligns perfectly with Prensena’s vision.
Following the success of his first exhibition for the Dorchester Collection in 2017, Prensena now proudly partners with The Beverly Hills Hotel and Hedges Projects to offer a compelling photography series, showcasing the artist and legendary institution’s shared goal of seizing moments of beauty and tranquillity.
John Scanlon, General Manager of The Beverly Hills Hotel, stated, “Having Jin-Woo Prensena’s exhibition at The Beverly Hills Hotel is a profound moment for us.
His ability to transport viewers to stunning natural landscapes and inspire reflection aligns perfectly with the essence of the Hotel, where luxury meets artistic expression.”
Born in Germany and of South Korean descent, Prensena is a fine art photographer best known for his boundary-pushing aerial landscapes. His work has graced the pages of Architectural Digest, CNN Travel, The Wall Street Journal, and even the cover of National Geographic Traveler magazine. Notable figures like Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner, and Ben Stiller have also found solace in his photography.
