The historic Dorchester Ballroom in London transformed into a magical winter paradise on November 24th, 2024, as The Caring Family Foundation (TCFF) and The Birley Clubs joined forces to host their inaugural Festive Wonderland event.

The event, masterfully orchestrated by The Birley Clubs‘ Creative Director, Tatiana Kharchylava, transported guests into an enchanting winter wonderland. The venue featured a meticulously crafted gingerbread village, a striking life-size polar bear, and entertaining dancing elves. The seasonal crafts and entertainment created an atmosphere of festive joy whilst serving a serious purpose, engaging attendees in both celebration and charitable giving.

The Festive Wonderland event coincides with the launch of TCFF’s ambitious 2024 “Food From The Heart” campaign, undertaken in partnership with The Felix Project, London’s foremost food redistribution charity. The campaign’s objectives are both immediate and far-reaching, with plans to distribute 300,000 meals across London by the end of 2024, and an additional 700,000 meals by the conclusion of 2025, representing a significant scaling up of operations to meet growing needs.
The campaign’s roots trace back to the COVID-19 pandemic when the Foundation recognised the urgent need to address the escalating problem of child food poverty across the UK. Working in partnership with The Felix Project, the campaign has evolved into a comprehensive effort to deliver meals to children most in need of food support, particularly during holiday seasons when school meal programmes are unavailable.
These targets represent a significant scaling up of TCFF’s already impressive accomplishments. By the end of 2025, the Foundation will have provided more than 3.5 million meals since 2020, demonstrating its sustained commitment to addressing child hunger and food insecurity in the UK through direct, practical action.
Supporting Local Communities: The Surrey Square Primary School Initiative
The Foundation’s commitment to creating lasting change is particularly evident in its ongoing support of Surrey Square Primary School, where the challenges faced by students and their families illustrate the critical importance of TCFF’s work. The statistics paint a sobering picture: 25% of the children live in Temporary Accommodation, whilst 84% come from families grappling with significant economic hardships, as indicated by the lowest deprivation index.

This event will bring together volunteers from Richard and Patricia’s hospitality group, including staff from Bill’s and The Birley Clubs, to create a memorable experience for the students.
