As guests clamoured into to the Ralph Lauren boutique on Madison Avenue to watch the Ralph Lauren Spring Summer 2019 Collection we were met by a huge transformation. The beautiful retail space had been turned into an elegant yet cosy coffee shop. Ralph’s Coffee Shop to be exact. As we sat down at various booths and tables a throng of waiters formed part of the decor.
Clad in unisex unforms both men and women waiters were dressed the same. The sleek look comprised of full-length white aprons, contrast-collar dress shirts with black ties, turned-up jeans and light-brown brogues. The attention to detail, not surprisingly so, was absolutely extraordinary with each square inch having been styled to perfection.
The Ralph Lauren Spring Summer 2019 Collection is sleek elegance from start to finish and we can’t get enough of it! The range celebrates everything femme. It indulgence in strength, style, sexiness (excuse the alliteration) and, well, being ‘woman’. According to the all American designer Spring Summer 2019 will be all about gold, black and white. Nothing else. And… well, we love it! Sleek lines are styled with loose skirts. The collection is awash with gold metallics and knitwear.
Once again the trend of contrast has popped up with metallic pieces matched with matt, opaque and transparent. Another major trend that has been visible since Paris Fashion Week is the military influence where the collection boasts with a chic US Navy Offer’s Whites’ jacket. The Ralph Lauren Spring Summer 2019 also has elements of the floral trend that has been doing the rounds this season. The collection is an elegant and chic one that allows the wearer, with a simple mix and match of its pieces, to go from subtle elegance to total indulgence.
