The ‘Gletscher Abfahrt’ presents a challenging run, while the Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis ski area offers 28 kilometres of cross-country trails in the picturesque Urseren Valley. Additionally, a special night-time cross-country skiing trail in Realp, just a short drive away, allows for thrilling skiing under the floodlights.
The Chedi offers an unmatched ski experience with its Winter Ski-Butler service. Their dedicated team prepares your ski equipment, warms up your boots, provides insights on the ski area, and even transports you to the slopes seamlessly.
For those seeking to elevate their skiing skills, The Chedi collaborates with HEAD to offer an exclusive Ski Masterclass. Join Didier Cuche for an expert skiing experience on the 2nd and 3rd of February, followed by a small group dinner in a classic Swiss chalet setting.
Winter Activities Beyond the Slopes
Opening in mid-November, The Chedi’s Winter Village transforms its courtyard into a captivating winter wonderland, welcoming both hotel guests and resort visitors. The village features cabins crafted from local wood, surrounded by snow-covered fir trees. These cabins host boutique food and drink stalls, offering traditional Swiss mountain delicacies.
The Chalet, a Scandinavian hut, offers an intimate dining experience around a fire pit, while a heated lounge area accommodates up to 40 guests, perfect for warming up with hot chocolate and cheesy truffle fondue after a day on the slopes. The Dome, a new addition, provides a 30sq/m space for guests to enjoy post-ski tipples during the day and private dinners under starlit skies at night. The Winter Village’s proceeds contribute to the Wald & Kima climate initiative, replanting the potted fir trees around the local area.
The Chedi Bear Club, available from 9th December, ensures parents with young children can enjoy The Chedi’s facilities to the fullest, thanks to excellent childcare services. Andermatt also hosts fantastic music events throughout the season, including the Verve Festival on 9th December.
Christmas Eve at The Chedi promises a festive event for all ages, making it the ideal way to celebrate Christmas Day in nostalgic alpine style. Don’t miss the opportunity for horse-drawn sleigh rides, available on selected dates in both December and February, perfect for family adventures or romantic two-person rides through the town.
