Thanks to this new love affair, we have made lists of local places to visit and we have all seen (and saved) the viral posts of magnificent beaches with the tagline “will you believe this is in Cornwall?”. All of which made us realise just what we have on our doorstep.
Yes, we grunted at the small selection of green light countries on the travel list, but with all of the beautiful coasts, hills, valleys and vibrant cities our United Kingdom has to offer, why even travel abroad?

Coast And Country ALTIDO Stays
1. New Park – Somerset
Is there really anything that beats a country getaway? Spending those long lazy summer days walking through fields, swimming in the lake, lounging around reading, sipping Pimms in the sun, roasting marshmallows under the stars or curling up in front of the roaring fire. If that is your idea of the perfect break, then New Park in Somerset is the perfect place for you. Situated 12 miles from Glastonbury, New Park is the picture-perfect Somerset country home. With 60 acres of outdoor space, sun-loungers, fire-pits and a croquet lawn, there is plenty to do… or not to do.
This large, yet inviting, home offers 8 bedrooms in total that can sleep up to 16 guests, with 3 double rooms, 3 twin rooms, 1 triple room and 1 single room. Although it has a cosy feel, there is no need for the cousins to eat on their laps in the sitting room, with its dramatic dining room, that can seat up to 20 guests, there is more than enough room for everyone.
With 3 ponds for wild swimming, paddle boarding, boating, stables and so much more, New Park is the ultimate place to get away from it all. Although remote, the property is located a mere 4 miles from the historic market town of Bruton, famous for the Hauser & Wirth gallery, garden and restaurant and is the perfect blend between rural getaway and convenient location.
2. Orchard House – Buckinghamshire
A masterpiece of architectural design, this 4 bedrooms 3 bathroom home in Buckinghamshire invites you to escape to a tranquil, serene setting that is close to all the attractions Waddesdon Manor, Waterperry Gardens and Bicester Village have to offer. The fully-equipped kitchen offers every convenience for gourmet cooking. Dine-in style with your family at the elegant dining table.
Orchard House is a beautiful, spacious home with all the amenities you could ask for. The wraparound garden and pool make this location perfect for outdoor entertaining or just relaxing by yourself in peace. Eight guests will have no problem finding comfortable places to sleep within these four walls of luxury!
A spacious living room offers stylish interiors with a large sofa, 2 armchairs, and coffee table. A flat-screen TV is mounted on the wall to provide entertainment for family time in front of it or at other times when you need some relaxation. 3. Osea Manor House – Essex

The kitchen is outfitted with a dining area that can seat up to 6 guests. In addition, there are two small breakfast rooms on the first and second floors. Please note that Osea Island is entirely self-catered with no access to shops or restaurants, therefore please bring lots of food, snacks and drinking water.

4. Osea Yurt – Essex
Osea Yurt in Essex offers a truly luxurious experience for those seeking an alternative to the normal camping experience. Your stay will include 1 bedroom with your own private bathroom–not one you’ll need to share or go searching for!
The yurt itself offers a double bed. Inside there is also an indoor/outdoor foldable table and chairs, as well as various vintage storage chests with side tables for all of your needs! They even offer individual shower cabins nearby- perfect after long hikes. Linen and towels are provided so that everything will be ready when you arrive at this beautiful destination.
A high-end market style mobile bar is available onsite, with a variety of drinks to choose from. WiFi is also available in The Glamping Hub / communal areas so you can post some photos and show off your experience!
Osea Island is a small tidal island that can be reached via the low tide for only 4 hours every 12 hour period. Visitors are required to book activities before they arrive on-site, such as sailing and bird watching tours. The closest international airport is Stansted Airport. It is approximately 40 minutes away by car.
If you are looking for a fun-filled getaway, look no further than the beautiful Osea Island. The charming little island is perfect for families and groups of friends who want to enjoy relaxing together in its scenic beauty.
5. Treburgett – Cornwall
The Treburgett cottage in Cornwall is the perfect size for those who want to feel at home. The accommodations include WiFi throughout, 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms which provide ample space for a family or group of friends looking to escape from their busy lives.
